I got a xtar VC2 battery charger and new 4000 mAh Samsung 40T batteries. 2 hours on charger and im only at 343mAh. I unplugged it and plugged it back in and now the mAh starts over at 0..
So how do I know when I'm done charging and can use my batteries?

Looks like your Input is only providing .2A for charging. You need a higher amp wall wart or input to get .5A charging. To answer your question, the mAH number will always go to "0" when you stop/start charging the battery. This is the amount of mAH that has been applied during your charging session. You will know when charging is done when you reach 4.2 volts and if memory is correct, it will flash the screen and/or say Full where the total mAH number is seen. To speed things up in your present setup, charge only one battery may increase the .2A to .5A charging rate. I'm using a VC2 right now to do a charge, nice charger. Only difference is I have a 2.1A wall wart and/or a 2.4A USB charging block that I connect to the VC2.

Excellent, thank you. Was wondering why I was only charging at .2amps
That explains alot.
I'll use a different power source.
Plugged into my Computer I have no idea what output to the USB it has.
I changed ports, but just as slow, but it did go up to .3 amps for whatever reason.
Plugged charger into my Samsung box and right away .5 amps. So I will use that for now on and wait for display to say full.

The important stuff has all been said, but I will add that 4000mah is a lot of mah on .2amps (assuming they were all but dead when you started, of course), it's gonna take a while. Even at .5amps, it's gonna take a while. I tend to stick to the .5amp charge rate on my XTAR VP4 Dragon, and it takes my Samsung 50Es many hours to charge. Maaaaany hours.

I freaked out a bit the first time I went to charge my 5200mah Keeppower 26650s a long time ago. Left them over night and they still weren't done in the morning. I thought something might be wrong too.

Ok, so that's a really long time..
Been waiting 2 weeks to get this vape thing setup and started, but looks like I'm going to have to wait another day.. :(

What are you setting up if you don't mind my asking? I'm stuck at home and it's raining outside, I'm looking for something to capture my interest in any and all corners of the ECF.

MTL RTA setup and real tobacco liquids and everything I need to rebuild. Been a very long time since last time I vaped and just getting setup again to cut down on smoking or even someday quit.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
This is one reason why I suggested the LG HG2 18650 batts that were on clearance. They are more than fine for what you need and they are 3000mah which will last a long time for you & not take as long to charge at 0.5v as the ones you have now.

Oh well, just wait and find something else to do lol.

BTW: Since you're using a regulated mod, they don't need to be fully charged to use them. So maybe since now you're charging with a wall adapter you can wait a couple hours then start messing around with your new mod.
