I usually vape it a few times past time to change the flavor (dry smoke) and then just add the new flavor. The old flavor will get diluted and burned off fairly quickly but I don't have any exceptionally overpowering flavors like menthol. I also drip instead of using cartridges. If you use cartridges, I would recommend that you at least blow out the atty so that the flavor on the wick in the atty doesn't mix too much with the flavor in the filling and taint the whole cartridge.

I like to have a brand new atty for new flavors.

It depents very much on what flavours one changes from and to. Vom clove to vanilla, I'd try a new atty. (I actually do have one that is reserved exclusively for clove. It's stored with a cart at one end and a cart condom at the other, and that's for a reason.)

If OTOH I change from vanilla to coffee, I just top off. It depends, as I said. Washing them, blowing them out, all may or may not be necessary.

It depends if they are flavors that may work together I just keep on vaping but if I think they will taste bad mixed(and many do to me) then I use the 0mg zero flavor pg/vg blend that I get from Cignot ($3 per 30ml) and flood the atty heat it up and blow it out then repeat a few times before switching to the new flavor.

That gets rid of most flavors and I don't have to re-break in the atty like I do when going for the full on soda/vodka/ water rinse method.

I generally don't do that very much anymore because it wrecks the atty for like 2 days before the taste and perfomance goes back to normal.

I usually dry my attys out (no cart, manual battery on 8 sec cycles until there's no vapor) then primer puff when I put on a new cart. Sometimes I go the extra step of blowing out/rinsing/drying.

As to marking carts: Taking a page from my wife (who is a nail technician), I started marking my carts with a small dot of various colors. That way, I usually have a good idea of what's in the cart at any given time (not really putting the full word on it, just using the cart "color" for a legend when I change flavors).

Now, this is from a person who usually keeps about 7-10 hand-filled carts ready, with what could be 1-5 different flavors. So it's important to have a reference for what's in what...

I'll be changing flavors soon when my shipment arrives, and the flavor I'm leaving behind is disgusting (only using it for the nic..trying to avoid the analogs still).

My plan as of now, soak all of the carts in rubbing alcohol and give them a good rinse to remove any residue on them, outside and inside.

Replace the filler with fresh PTB in all of them.

The atty's I'm still figuring out what I want to do with, I'm thinking a good rinse with hot water, blowing out the excess a few times, then hitting them with the hair dryer and priming. I'll see if that works for me.

I'll also be labeling my carts from now on so I can keep it clean. And probably label my atty's for similar flavors to be used only on certain atty's. I only have the 2 from my starter kit still..and want to keep it that way until they die..more $$ in my pocket that way.

I'll let you know how all the cleaning goes, and if I try anything new, as well as how it all works out.

I would use high proof vodka rater then rubbing alcohol.
