When do you have to replace coils? Also, some crappy juice. What to do with it?

So, I got my mini vivi working again. It's new. When do you need to replace the wicks and coils?

Also, ALL of the juice I bought online has been great. I loved the pina colada so much from vapor kings that I went to the local head shop and bought their largest bottle of pina colada. He went back and mixed it 50/50 vg, pg. Problem is, it totally sucks! Tastes like wax. What would you do?

LOLLL some juices need steeping. Put in a dark cupboard for a few weeks. Also our tastes change..
When I first began vaping I bought 30 wide ranging samples. Out of those 30 I liked 10. Immediately ordered another 20 and out of those I liked 10…so out 50 different flavors I enjoyed 20. Months later I tried those 30 samples that I disliked and enjoyed all but one. Whether it was because my tastes had changed or they needed steeping I don’t know. Realize also "same name" juices will vary greatly in taste from vendor to vendor as they all have diff recipes and order ingredients from diff Suppliers.
If most your your juices are spot on you've luckier than most

My #1 rule is NEVER buy a big bottle of anything from a vendor if I have not tried that juice from that vendor before. There is a whole lot of variance in the same flavor between vendors.

WHat I like to advise new vapers to do with juices is buy lots of sample packs from many different vendors. With these you get just tiny bottles of many different flavors to try. When you find the ones you like you can buy larger bottles.

As for the big bottle. If the local vendor doesn't take pity on you there is not much you can do. Sometimes letting it sit a few weeks (steeping) can improve the flavor. Sometimes not.

Finding exactly your perfect juice is a frustrating thing and takes time. You will also find that over time what is perfect for you changes as your senses of taste and smell return.

Thanks BakuPeg, where do you get your menthol to add? I have menthol, but it is already perfect. Are you talking about just flavoring?

 I'm sorry I DIY. Yes I mean add menthol flavoring. Even if you don't DIY its a good thing to have to add a little something to juices that are dull. Like Vapoor says our tastes change.
Vapor kings? Let me take a peek over there to see if they have any..

NicQuid Added Burst menthol drops

Just something to think about your next order. Before I DIY it really helped with some flavors.
just start with a drop or 2, the drops are reaaaal potent!

sweet! vapor kings have been very good to me thus far. Always lessons to be learned, I suppose. This is not the 1st mistake, nor will it be my last.

You'll know when it's time to change coils when your juice tastes off, or slightly burned and muted no matter the voltage. Though at that point it's not time to just toss it, I soak my gunked up coils overnight in pga, then dry burn in 5-10 second bursts until the coils glow evenly and produce no more smoke. Next just rinse the coil under warm water and let dry overnight. Should give you quite a bit more life performing this from time to time.

I always keep a bottle of menthol to add umph to a juice. I also keep a bottle of unflavored to tame some juices just a bit. I hate to waste anything so in my head I tell myself "If I am capable....it is vapable". heehee :)

Although I function in much the same way I WAS forced to concede 2 particular juices I bought were unvapable. They literally made me physically ill. No matter what I did to them nothing fixed the problem. I can only assume there was something in them that I just am not capable of vaping.

Now I pretty much DIY my juices so I know exactly what is in them.

Do you share any of your recipes on the DIY forum? I have been reading stuff all night. I keep saying I'll go to bed when I get finished reading just one more. heehee Have a great day.

None of my recipes are all that unusual. I do mostly plain fruits. One thing I did notice that makes it hard to share is that flavoring of the same brand purchased from different vendors has different levels of concentration. That affects what percentage it needs for good flavor. Kinda frustrating :)

so how do you dispose of unwanted juice. my friend sent me some that he didnt want (now i know why). i went ahead and tried it Blueberry and peach, both have a very flowery taste YUK!

The 2 bottles I had I just poured down the drain. Then washed and saved the bottles for DIY use. Anything that made me that ill I didn't feel comfortable sharing with anyone else.

Also my Vivi heads, with washing and dry burning, are lasting 10+ weeks. They still fires great but the wick starts to degrade. YMMV with darker and heaver VG juices.
Here's a very long but detailed vid regarding Vivi maintenance. Well worth watching. Realize he's using the larger 3.5 ml tank.

I was going to post this exact video - it's the method I use to clean my Vivi Heads, and it also works great when applied to the Kanger eVOD, T3's and VapeOnly BCC Megas I own. I clean and dry burn about every 3 tanks (if I'm using the same juice in each) and this keeps the wick and element clean and in good working order. I have a Mini Viv that still is using the original replacement head from when I purchased it in January!
