Move the money from the Cigarette line item of your budget to the Entertainment column. Now you can choose to spend that however you wish, and don't have to worry if you are "saving money" by not smoking. As long as you are not spending money on the stinkies, you are saving money!

I can justify anything. It's a very useful skill :p

*DISCLAIMER: The advice you are about to receive comes from a Shopaholic*

Don't worry about it, lol.
I just think of how much it costs for surgery, radiation and chemotherapy treatments and I know that I haven't come anywhere close to spending too much on vape gear.
But that's my rationalizations ;)

'Atta girl! I like the way you think!

My biggest expense is always juice.....I need to learn to DIY.
I tried to DIY once and it tasted like a lemon candle....I think I just didn't use the right flavourings.
I am going to try it again, since it has been almost a year since I tried for the first time; in the ensuing time I have learned a bit more about juices and how they are made.
Just doing DIY I see will save me a bundle.

When I look at my sig and know I have not spent as much as I have saved I am happy. Once I got my MVP and discovered what VV could do for taste my desire to buy more PV's is on hold, I still want a Provari, but it is not an urgent desire. I started DIY juice, and even with the mistakes during the learning curve that has saved me money. There are 2 juices I love and have not been able to replicate which I will still buy occasionally. For me this has turned into a hobby in building and experimenting with coils, wicks and juice. I am a little over the three month mark. I also stay away from a lot of the tech threads, I am sure that helps.

I can't really give you tips on how to NOT want things....because that is a psychological issue, not a vape issue.

People desiring nice things is normal.....unfortunately, we live in a consumer based society/nation - and people have been programmed to BUY BUY BUY everything they see. WANT, BUY, WANT, BUY, WANT, BUY..and so on.

Be a smart consumer. Determine beforehand your budget. Determine WHY you are buying things, and what you WANT out of the products you are buying.

I set aside a vape budget for myself, and I have not ONCE reached that budget for the month. I land FAR below it, each month.

WOW bunch you guts took me WWWAAYYY to seriously It was a joke:lol:

Well folks, after many years of RYO at the cost of zip every month, I can honestly say that I haven't saved a red cent in years of vaping & I don't see it ever changing. What did change is losing a horrid cough, running out of breath, etc. Money could never replace my health regardless of how much money is involved.

I started actually saving money when I switched to DIY ejuice. Found the $3.88 Wal-Mart bottles of VG in the pharmacy section (Skin Protectant) and bought a $16 bottle of 100mg nic and a bunch of <$2 flavoring concentrates from Wizard Labs. Vaped 100% VG for about a year then found PG at $20 per gallon at Tractor Supply Company and started doing a bit of mixing.

Once I had the art of making my own juice taste the way I liked it the savings started. For less than $60 I have enough juice supplies to last me a year or more, and if I do want to try something different I just drop a few $ on a few bottles of different flavor concentrates to mix with my base ingredients.

I also use only Protanks and an RSST. I made my own ceramic wick for the RSST using the PetSmart air stone method, and coil wire is dirt cheap per foot. So that's set up for a long time for almost no $. The Protanks I rewick with <$2 (for 120 yrds) Peaches and Creme cotton yarn and I can now even rebuild a coil for those as well, using the same coil wire I use in my RSST.

Once I found the hardware I wanted to vape on (for me it's mainly mech mods, though I do have a Vamo V2 as well, for playing with at home and for use as an ohm meter) got the hardware set the way I liked it, and got a supply of 4 cheap 18650 batteries the spending then pretty much stopped. Checking the $ amount in my sig below of $ that would have gone to analogs, I would say right now I have spent less than half that on all my supplies added together, and I am set to vape for at least the next 6 months to a year without spending any more money than a few $ on flavor concentrates.

Hi, I'm Mike.. and I'm a vaper... but's it's been 10 days since I've spent over 100.00 on a new mod or atty. (well.. that RM2 was under 50.00)... eventually you will have 1 of every type, and 2 of what you like, and you will feel OK... after that, it's just about what might catch your eye, but you will no longer NEED to get it. :) The juice is trickier, but hopefully you will find one or two that you really like, and the rest are just there on the buffet for when you feel like something different. It does slow down... eventually....

I sort of went the long way around on gear.

I started with an ego-C tank system. It was horrible it just leaked everywhere. The 2 1000 maH Ego batteries from it however are still going strong.

I picked up 5 CE5 clearos to replace the tanks on the tank system. They are all still going strong.

I picked up a vamo for the longer battery life and the ability to pre charge multiple batteries for hurricane season. It is still going strong.

I picked up a few carto tanks and cartos and LOVE them.

I picked up 2 knockoff mechs from fasttech and they are running just fine. They are my vapocalypse backup. In the same order i picked up a couple vivi novas which I HATE. The novas are in the vapocalypse box. I an make them work but really hate the leaking.

I picked up a couple of ego-T 18650s. Replaceable batteries in an ego simple kinda mod. Great devices but too big for me to drive with.

I picked up several RDAs and RBAs (fasttech clones except for my AGA-T2 which I purchased from a friend).

I just recently picked up 2 ego twists and 2 evods that came with them. Loving the twists for driving. Haven't tried the EVODs yet.

I rebuild/recoil all my devices myself. I DIY all my own juices.

In almost 6 months I am about $100 ahead of what I would have spent on cigarettes and that doesn't even count in all the benedryl/allergy meds I no longer need on a daily basis.

At this point I oculd vape for years without buying anything else but wick, wire, batteries and juice supplies.
