We didn't have cell phones, we had a rotary and a party line.

That's one example, what have you got?

Feeling it yet??

Ours was 3 long...1 short ring...and if you lifted the receiver up real easy you could nose in to your neighbors business.

We pumped the gasoline up in to a glass bottle to measure the gallons...then drain it into your gas tank... and repeat as many times as needed....and gas smelled goood then.

a "portable" computer weighed enough to give the tech geeks muscles. We had to use floppy disks. Macintosh was the ONLY good computer (ok it really still is *oh burn*)
PAGERS! People had PAGERS! Your princess was ALWAYS in another accursed castle, kids lined up at the one friend who had a gaming systems house and QUIETLY waited to take a turn. There was music on MTV, AND most of it was GOOD. Bevis and ButtHead were considered controversial. Bart Simpson was considered controversial. (OMG I'm getting old. *sigh*)

Ahhh, the good ol' days...bringing back good memories, like black and white t.v. and no remotes. Seems so barbaric now.

how about when TV's came is those GIGANTIC wooden consoles so they looked like furniture and you got excited about what movie they were going to show on primetime TV since VHS wasn't even around yet ...

who needs an ipod when you could go buy the 45 ...people had VINYL (some people still do) ... oh how my father hated when I bounced the needle on his record player:evil:

The TV had an antenna that required placement in a specific "sweet" spot to pick up different channels.

You constantly blew fuses at Christmas- no surge protectors.

Pong was the only computer game and we thought it was cool.

Loading programs onto the computer from tapes (B.F.- before floppies).

You only had 24 chances to take a good picture at a party.

The only reality show around was sitting on the front porch and watching the neighbors fight.

The premier of Thriller on MTV was a huge deal.

You got one shot every year to watch the Wizard of Oz, A Christmas Story and It's a Wonderful Life.

You woke up early on Saturday just to watch cartoons.

you were lucky.....we had a crank....my phone number was two longs and a short....

when I started using computers we had to punch holes in cardboard cards to tell it what we wanted to do.....

dad bought our first tv when I was eight.....

my grandmother was born in a sod house in South Dakota.....they carried their water from a creek....my father remembered the first car in the county, the first airplane he ever saw....he used to farm with horses pulling the plow.....
