The first time the 'Kid' gave you the wrong item(s) it becomes your responsibility to take the items back to the shop and the sales person. Tell them of their error and have them correct the error.
The second time the 'Kid' gave you wrong item(s) it becomes your responsibility to take the items back to the shop and the sales person. Tell the sales person and the shop owner/manager of the repeated error.
Whining on a forum Will Not Correct This Issue. Sorry.
The responsibility for repeated errors are both Yours and the 'Kid'.

Every time I have bought coils at a B&M they got handed to me to look at and make sure they were correct. Maybe it's just me but I wouldn't ever leave the store without looking at them, and I've been that way since the beginning.

I never expect my burger flipper to give me my correct order, or my pizza cashier to give me a fresh pizza. So what I do is I help them out, I double check my order. I make sure its all there, so`s that nothing was forgotten, or that the pizza has`nt been sitting in that warmer for the last 6 hours. Because every time I let up on this practice just a little bit, just once, I get home to a missing box of fries, or a brown dried out pizza. Ya, it happened just last week.

I have over 4000 skus in my facility and I hire people to correctly pick and furnish the customer what they asked and paid for with a very high rate of success. What is the problem with completing the task you were hired for and doing it correctly.

Wow 4000 SKU's............... At the peak of my business we maintained over 73,000. Many of those only minutely differing and a huge number of those arrived in bulk containers(no box/labeling/nada)
Not about to take up for incompetence, but on occasion Skip happened.

I have also purchased a huge amount of small vaping products from China. Many arriving in OEM Boxes - Plain vanilla with a Vendor sku sticker. Often a look up was necessary to confirm what was for what.

Yes, the kid/person may need more training.

NOT speaking to someone there - VOIDS their AWARENESS of an issue.
only an inventory update will reveal a problem through stock levels, and that is an IF.
If equal sales mistakes are made - inventory totals can be correct.

Speak up..............and improve your service ;)
Pay attention to what you purchased - and improve your service.:)

blow another huge cloud again into his face to seal the deal... and finally, say... Kewlll Brahh... ;)

Don't forget the obligatory hand slap followed by the vertical coil fistbump.

I recently went to my local shop and there was about 5 or 6 of a younger group in there. I have probably 10 years or so on them. I walk to a juice rack close to where they were standing. Two of them kinda looked at me goofy. Another kid looked at me and then proceeded to take a monster rip off his box mod and blow a massive cloud.

I remebered this thread and thought, "here we go".

I like to mess with people so, I looked at him and said "pfft, do you even vape bro?". They got a chuckle out of that and it ended up breaking the ice. I ended up talking to them for a few min. I just asked him what his setup was and he was more than happy to talk. Told him to join ECF.

Ended up being a nice visit. Will go back if I need to. Customer service was good.

If you think the kid is incompetent at his job don't shop there. If you have no other places to shop then you should probably check your purchase before you pay.( my local vape shop always hands me my stuff to look at before I buy it)........ But this way overboard long winded post has done absolutely nothing to help you solve your problem!!!

When the kid in the B&M just won't give you the right thing, nail the doors and windows shut and burn it down with him inside. Oh, wait, that's against the law. Never mind.
Haha. This is simply the best reply on this thread.

Whoa, it was getting heavy for a bit there. I'm off to find a conflict free zone.

I'm going to take a little guess here, being the same age as the OP...OP can't read the tiny writing on the package unless he brings in his reading glasses.

In the past 8 months I've gone from still having perfect up close eyesight to my first pair of reading glasses, to about to buy my next pair.

And I haven't been carrying them with me because I can still read menus and most things.

Do all your skus look incredibly similar and come in tiny, difficult to read packaging?

What is so difficult about checking your purchase?

Yep and some only a single number in the item number is what identifies one item number from another.

Gave up years ago. I carry mine on a cord around my neck :)

I didn't feel like reading through 6 pages of ...... so forgive me if someone brought this up, but why aren't we placing blame on the store owner for hiring such incompetent staff and/or refusing to train and evaluate them properly?

If customer satisfaction is a big part of your business model then it's your responsibility to make sure that gets carried through to the customer. The owner of this vape shop failed, as did the employee. Although IMHO the owner's failure is a far larger and less forgivable one than being a bit careless with extremely minor pieces of inventory.

Maybe that employee used to care about his job and perform well, but kept seeing big breasted dingbat coworkers (that seem to be taking over the vape shops) getting raises or promotions over him, and decided to stop caring. There isn't a shortage of similar scenarios that play out all the time in the workplace.

You seem to care a lot about your business, if that's the case make sure you identify and reward quality employees so they don't turn out like the guy at the vape shop. Doesn't seem like they teach that in business school.

This is a hypocritical post. Yes, we discussed this exact thing. So here you come to point fingers at people dropping the ball while admitting in the same breath you couldn't be bothered to read the other replies. It's 6 pages, not 200.

Perhaps the situation is that the owner, employee and customer are all just like you: "can't be bothered"
