I have been vaping since Feb. When I first began, all juices tasted great. As time went on. flavors began to go off, so I soaked clearos in rum and rinsed well, filled with fresh juice. This worked for some time, however, for the last few weeks its all horrible. I had a replacement coil and put into an atomiser that tasted funky. It tastes great now.How do I tell for sure when a coil needs replacement?
Thanks.

Yummm.... rum flavored coils! I'd think the sugar in the rum might gunk the coils, but never tried it myself.

I soak my coils in hot water for every refill, and put it aside and replace when I am no longer getting the vapor I expect. When I have about 10 used coils put aside, I soak the whole lot in a combo of vodka and hydrogen peroxide and dry burn them.

For each 10 I toss about 2 out if they don't look or sound right on the dry burn (I.E. no rattlesnake sound). For those that smoke, I give some extra burn.

My kanger coils last about two weeks, but I use 4 tanks, so each get less use than if had fewer.

Change the Kanger/Evod atomizer head when:
Leaking, Burnt taste, vapor production drops, flavor is off
In just under 10 mo of use, I've thrown away 1 atomizer head.
Rebuilt a couple 1 with silica, 1 with cotton (experiment, jury's still out)
Cleaned the rest using the following process:
Soak in alcohol (Not Rubbing Alcohol) overnight.
Rinse throughly with warm tap water forcing water into the wick area.
Towel dry and blow out any water.
Remove the gasket and stem.
Remove the flavor wick(s).
Dry burn 6 watts, 5 seconds on/off. Repeat until coils are all turning red and wick is clean.
Blow the burned off crud away.

Hold the flavor wick with tweezer while burning them with a lighter or torch until wick is clean.
Place the flavor wick back on top of the coil.
Or.
Place the flavor wick back on top of the coil.
Dry burn as above to cleanup the flavor wick (4-5 cycles should do it).
Or.
Replace the flavor wick with the material of your choice.

Reinstall the stem and gasket.
