When to use higher voltages?

A lot of variable voltage batteries and APV go quite high in voltage, and I was wondering when one would use that high of a setting? For instance, my every day, favorite flavor at the moment is Five Pawns Queenside, and the sweet spot on that juice per the manufacturer is between 3.6-3.9. Most of what I've seen rests somewhere in the 3's. So when would you ever crank it up as high as some of these batteries/APV's go? Am I missing something?

Because to me, when I start taking my flavors past 3.8 or 3.9, it starts getting a burned quality to the flavor.

Lower resistance coils pull more amps from a battery due to the lower electrical resistance of low ohm coils, which in turns means more battery drainage.

Higher resistance coils pull less amps from a battery due to the higher resistance of the higher ohm coils, resulting is less battery drain.

A LR coil will have less of a useable voltage range than a SR (standard resistance) coil, and a HR (high resistance) coil will have an even wider useable voltage range than a SR coil will.

The Safe Vaping Power Chart can be used as a general guideline to demonstrate this:

So to get the most use from a vv/vw device, I want something with a resistance around 3.5 ohms?

I've found about 2.5 - 3.0 ohms gives you room enough to lower the voltage enough to avoid burning, and high enough to fry any juice. You can go to higher, but I can't tell the difference in vapor assuming you adjust for the same wattage.

It's always easiest to adjust your VV to whatever tastes best to you, then check what voltage it is so you can repeat it in the future. Adjusting using a formula will get you in the ballpark, then go higher or lower depending on how it tastes...:vapor:

3.5? ummm ive found 1.5-2.2 ohms is best for flavor and vapor production depending upon the VG %age. the higher the VG the ohms tend to do best at 1.8-2.2 at around 7.5-9.5W the higher the ohms, the voltage needs to go higher, thus the wattage goes up, thus the battery doesnt last as long best put is Volts X amps = watts

Im using an RSST tank at 1.5-1.8 ohms and my 3400Efest lasts 36 hrs at 7.5-10W ( I luv my Vamo3 ..wattage adjustable)
