Just keep buying and buying. I'm trying to get past that stage. I'm going to add up all my Purchases and try to get to my break even date. Wish me luck.

Oh yes, look at my sig - I'm still buying! Not because I haven't found my sweet spot but because all the new mods (apvs) coming out every day are just COOL.....For a lot of people - including me - vaping morphed into a collecting hobby. I appreciate the artistry and also what you are buying is of value so if you decide you want to try something else you can always sell it on the classys!! So don't feel bad - I figure it this way - if whatever you are doing is keeping you off stinkies then that's great!! :)

I'm at just over $550 in just over a month however I found my PV, my juice delivery device, and my juice vendor and have enough to last me at least another 2 months. Now I just have to not WANT other things (RBA, pyrex tanks, and a second vamo if they come out with SS in particular lol) but there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

Part of what I hated about smoking was the expense. I've been keeping a tally and am just about at the break even point in my fifth week of vaping. My early purchases were larger, because I was trying to find out what I liked. These past couple weeks I've toned it down a bit and on a weekly basis are about half of what I would have spent on tobacco.

It's really great that people become hobbyists, but personally I have plenty of hobbies already. I'd rather reward myself down the road with a high end fly rod or nice rifle with the money I'm saving from not smoking. I've gotten to the point that I'm pretty happy with my hardware, I have a few things I'd like to try, but none I feel I have to try today.

I also don't want to become to committed. I'm probably vaping 6-mLs a day right now, and I do hope to tone that down. I plan on reducing my nicotine gradually. I don't think I'll ever stop vaping, but I'd like to get to the point where I only do it a handful of times a day. So I just don't plan on accumulating thousands of dollars in PV's.

At this point I generally have to buy something once a week just to make sure I can keep vaping. I think with the past two purchases I've made I'm probably at the point where I could go at least a month without having to buy anything. I've gotten to the point that when I shop for my vaping stuff I as "Do I NEED this, or do I want it?" that question alone has reduced my spending. I still try new things. And I have a small list of things I plan to buy, but I'm not in a rush to try them all today.

Another thing I should point out is how quickly the technology is moving. If you were to say spend $500 a year ago to buy the best you could find, chances are it could be had for half as much today. I think that trend won't be changing in the near future.

I am not sure I have reached it at six months. Honestly, this was never a money saving move on my part. I suspect that I will continue to spend about the same amount I did before, some months more, some months less. But, I have all sorts of new toys that I enjoy and I feel much better. Not to mention the new habit is more enjoyable to me. I really enjoy the new technology that seems to be growing by leaps and bounds.

As for when I will quit vaping, not sure I ever will. I am interested in seeing some long term health studies to determine what the risks are long term. If there are no risks/low risks associated with it, I probably won't quit.

I've never really added up my purchases. I was spending around $15 a week for cigarettes. I've been quit for a little over two years. In those 2 years I figure I would have spent $1600. I don't think that I've spent over that amount but it's pretty close. New gear doesn't tempt me anymore. I've found what I need and want. I diy and I'll need more nic juice in a couple months and I'm low on my favorite flavor. I'll need new imr batts in a few months. I bought a did clone for $20 and I'm having fun playing with that.

My purchases include... my starter kit for $100, then I quickly moved up to a couple 510s, then a couple egos, the a couple box mods, then a vv box, than another vv box, then a lavatube (which I quickly sold) then my first provari, then a VV reo woodvil (which I sold for what I had in it..nice device but it wasn't for me and too expensive to keep) then my second provari. No need or desire to buy anything else.

I'm careful about what I buy, I can't afford to be a collector. I started with attys and cartridges, I quickly moved to dripping into those attys.. then cartomizers. It's took me awhile to master carto tanks, for awhile I was buying parts to make my own carto tanks then got into a co-op for dcts and am still using them. Then the vivi nova came along, I've bought different cotton wicking materials and settled on the cheap, readily available cotton ball. Now I'm moving into RBAs but my did clone purchase (vulcan) didn't break the bank. I'm always trying to be cost effective but leave myself a little room to play :)

In five months - Equipment (including Attys, batts, chargers, etc)- $500. Juices- $400. Breathing, sleeping and feeling better- Priceless.
I smoked the stinkin' weed for 40 years. Vaping is a life-extender for me. I don't think in terms of cost unless Mamaw (my wife) begins to make comments about how much I'm spending.....

Frugality is totally overrated. I've got everything I need but then I saw the 26650 mods with 4000 mah batteries. Of course, may need a Kick with them. Have to buy a few batteries and a charger. A Phiniac would be required for aesthetic purposes. Carto punch, more carto's. But Sure Vapes is cheap on carto's so hey, I'm saving money.

Same here. I'm obsessive with all my hobbies, and this is just another one for me.

juice prices were killing me in the beginning.. a lot of buying juice and not liking it.
then, I started mixing my own juice and saw some real savings.

my costs are pretty low right now.

$2 a week for juice
a $9 cisco 306 will last me 6-8 months

saved enough money to have a few nice mods to play with.

Is that $9 cisco in a tank? I've got an order for my first carto-tank and I think that will be my next evolution in vape gear (going to that from clearomizers)
