Where and under what conditions should E-liquid be stored?

The last week or so I've noticed my e-liquid become far more watery and lack of taste since I first had it and it wasn't until today when I left my e-cig in the garage (much colder) by accident and I went back took it and starting vaping and wow its back to its strong taste and it tastes great.

Could this have anything to do with the change of environment? I was storing them in my cupboard in my room which used to be part of the garage so its a reasonably colder room than the average one but no where close to the coolness of the actual garage.

So is this why I've been having issues with my e-liquid bottles? If this is the case should I leave my e-liquid in the garage now, tightly fastened and should I open the window a tiny tiny bit to let some air in?

I'm wondering if they get watery only after leaving them to sit for a while.

Maybe giving them a good shake would solve the problem.

Pg and vg will thicken under colder conditions and become thin in warmer conditions. I cannot comment on the taste difference. Where you store them is based on your preference of thicknesses. The general rule of thumb is a cool dark place.

I keep mine in a cool, dark place. Also, I always shake the bottle for 10 - 30 seconds before filling a new carto or topping off. Juice does separate.

Sorry about the thread-jack, but I actually have a similar question after reading this. I was babysitting my cousins kids yesterday and it was warm (read HOT) outside. I had packed my charger, some extra cartos, my extra batt and a bottle of liquid in a case before I left. I was outside watching them ride bikes when I thought of my discarded jacket (case in pocket), and wondered what effect summer weather has on PVs and nic liquid.

Obviously a cool, dark place is best, but if I need to be mobile with my PV, will it harm the liquid if it gets warm? How warm is too warm? Or will it "go bad" if it's carried around in a hot purse/car/pocket for too long?

Perhaps I should get an insulated carry case.

Heat and light speed up the oxidation of the nicotine. This is why you hear about people warming their juice up to help it steep.

Leaving your juice in your car during the summer time will not ruin it, but it will hurt its shelf life. The stuff isn't real finicky but if you buy a year supply of juice I would keep it in the fridge.

I store my liquid in a cabinet in my home at room temperature. Eliquid is very thin and easily evaporate..I would recommend keeping it out of excess heat

It won't hurt it to get reasonably warm for reasonable periods of time. Too often, hot or too long will shorten it's shelf life from a year though. A whole day in full sun on a hot dashboard might, (or might not) kill it for good, depending on the juice and the temp. But a few hours or so in a warm place outside is unlikely to do any permanent damage (unless you live in Sub-Saharan Africa or something). Short periods of very high heat are more likely to just change the taste somewhat. It may or may not even be noticeable.

You don't really need an insulated case. Better to transfer the juice to smaller bottles, say 5ml, for travel. Worst case is you trash 5ml of juice if you forget it in a 140 deg. car for 8 hours.

Madvapes is running an experiment right now where they're storing nic juice under different conditions and monitoring the nic content. So far, they're 4 weeks in with no change regardless of storage temperature. That's not to say taste is the same, since they're only looking for degradation of nic.

Huh? Eliquid does not easily evaporate. If fact is draws in moisture from the air.

Great question! I recommend a dark place as well. I left a clear bottle of e-liquid on a desk, by a window and it turned pink...and tasted a little different.
