Where are all the vapers? Where do they all come from?

Aside from my brother-in-law who came to visit about 2 months ago (he lives 2 states away), I have never seen another person vaping. It seems odd, because there are so many on this forum... Do you think they are all stealth vaping?

Sometimes I think when people see me vaping in traffic they think that I'm doing drugs, toking off of a long ego-C Twist with some clear tank on top filled with some strange liquid and blowing clouds of vapor out bigger than a cigarette would deliver.

I'm just waiting for someone to call 911 and give them my license plate number, and the next thing you know, red and blue lights in my rear view mirror.

Haha. Me too. I wonder what people think on the road. I think only a few people vape, relative to the population. I think that number will increase though.

I'm amazed that I have never seen a vaper in the wild. Other than my firend or the folks at the local B&M. Obviously lots of us around, but never seen one. And I'm ALWAYS looking, lol!

I've had strange looks from people at drive thru windows. They'll notice my e-cig and i notice that look of wonder. I explain what it is but only some understand. It's just the price of being ahead of the curve.

The reason I started vaping was because I saw a girl hitting on her ecig...I knew it was an ecig even though it was all black, with a black mouthpiece. I went home and started researching it, been stinky free for a month and a half now. I too was driving yesterday vaping on my ego with clearomizer and wondering if people thought I was smoking pot or something. Oh well, pot is legal now in Colorado so I will just vape on. People are out there and thankfully I spotted one on that faithful day. HAHA!

Except for going to B&M's and VaperCon, etc. i've only ever seen 2-3, all with cig-a-likes. The first vaper I ever saw besides myself was walking through the gas station door as I was about to pay, took a huge drag and blew it right towards the cashier(who was very close to the door) in a way that made it obvious he was just trying to be a ......... about it trying to entice people into calling him out about it. I'm all for vaping in public, don't get me wrong, but he was being a total jerk about it.

I haven't seen another vaper yet either. I do notice strange looks from people when I'm stuck in traffic or outside my office building. When they're in their cars they stare like a little kid with his first Playboy. Out on the street, people seem to do a double-take, then immediately look away because they think I'm doing something illegal and want to avoid confrontation.

I saw a vaper in the wild ....about a year ago outside a doctor's office. She was off in the grass away from the entrance, and at first I assumed she was smoking. I'd stepped out for a quick vape. I noticed her looking at me, so I smiled, waved my PV a little in the air and said "It's an 'e-cig'! Electronic cigarette!" (I was a newbie still, then). She grinned and waved what was in her hand and said "Me too!"

I've met a few vapers but they were using green smokes or njoys, I have yet to meet someone with a mod or anything like that

I've been vaping for three and half years now, and up until my trip to Las Vegas a few weeks ago had only seen one other vaper.

But in Vegas the wife and I were at a timeshare presentation, and the lady in the couple at the table next to us was vaping on an Ego.
Then later that night, I was vaping at the blackjack table and the pit boss came over and showed me his Ego.

That was pretty cool.

I was just thinking this same thing. Besides the couple of friends I have that got me into it, I've yet to see another vaper in the wild. Even more strangely, I don't seem to get too many questions about it when I'm vaping away at the bar either.

I've only seen two people here.. My husband was in the VA hospital and left his e-cig on the dinner tray. The nurse brought it back in showing us her setup. Then I saw another nurse with one.

I had only seen one or two people vaping, other than myself, up until I found a couple local group pages on Facebook. Since that time, I've been to a few face to face meet ups. I'm going to one tomorrow, in fact. It's a grand opening for a brick and mortar shop not too far from me. There are lots of us out there in the wild. We're just somewhat elusive.

I've converted half of my friends so I feel like I'm around vapers all the time!

I think my city may be ahead of the curve as we have 3 B&M and then an additional 2 that run out of flea market booths. We are fortunate!

I saw two ladies in the smoking area outside at a local casino back in Aug. I did know what they were because I had a friend that bought a cigarette like one in a mall Vegas a few years ago. I did ask why they were outside and they said it was easier than dealing with the casino security.

I had been thinking about trying an ecig and after the few minutes talking with them - I did continue to think about it. Finally did something about it in Oct. and the best thing was finding this site.

I have been hoping that my bestfriend would also try vaping - she is still smoking with COPD and getting worse all the time. Sadly we were outside two weeks ago - she was smoking and I was vaping and a man - says - is that one of those ecigs - I tried that and it didn't work Just what I did not want her to hear. He was a little "different" so I didn't want to get into it - I just have to hope one day very soon I can get her to give this a try.
