No, neither one of them are new.

The kayfun 5 is no longer made by the originator, and clones are getting harder to come by.

However there is the kayfun Prime which is a bit easier to find. It's very much the same as the Kayfun 5 but I have seen 22mm versions and 25mm versions. I don't know much about the prime though. The Kayfun 5 is a 22mm tank.

The Aegis Solo mod is still easy to find, though. It's a 2019 mod. They also make a newer, but slightly larger version of it called the Aegis Max, which takes 18650 and 21700 batteries. Same exact mod with different buttons. And like I said, slightly bigger.

The rocker switch goes berzerk when adjusting the power . I finally had the luck to get it to 10w and lock it.

I was shown a video on how to tear it apart and swab the contact with a q-tip. nah.

I went from the Kayfun 4 happily to the Kayfun 5...

However, they came out with the Prime because the tight MTL'ers complained about the greater airiness of the 5...

So from what I gathered, the Prime had a tighter draw which is why I never bought one for myself (I prefer RL)..

That's about when Taifun up and made a DL version.. never bought that one either.. lol.

This guy would likely, if my information is correct, prefer the Prime to the 5..

One can only hope! I have a few mods in the stash I never even tested before packing them up for future use...

I'll try and remember to just lock in my settings on the Solo right off the bat.... that way I don't tempt fate..

I own many Kayfun 5 clones and the one at gearbest is pretty tight, especially on the 3 lowest air settings, because it has a narrower chimney than my other kayfun 5 tanks. I can't compare it to the original though.

Not a Solo, but same principle. I might give it try when it becomes my last functioning mod .

You may be interested in a rugged setup. An Aegis Solo mod and an easy to build rebuildable MTL tank that has a metal sleeve, like this Kayfun 5 clone (yes I have that clone, it's superb and they ship fast).

Don't get me wrong, nothing is going to withstand repeated falls, though.

Yes, gearbest is a good site. The seller that sells the Kayfun 5 on Gearbest ships fast. But if you aren't into rebuildables, then don't bother.

The Kayfun 5 is an RTA (aka rebuildable tank atomizer). You don't buy coils for it, you make them.

Many people these days seem to love both the Innokin Zenith and the Innokin Zlide. They take the same coils. I personally never owned either of them.
