Went totally overboard last week and wound up with two TF cyclones because I absolutely 'needed' the gold and red AFC caps...took the positive posts out today and just waiting for a new dremel attachment and bits that are due to arrive on Monday...I'd be happy to send one of them out after converting it to BF. PM me if you'd like! I could always just point you to where tf's are available in standard, AFC, and the few color options floating around. Picture shows the red AFC that came with the tf cyclone, the regular AFC, as well as the standard top cop with the stock air hole...even with extra AFC's, I actually still use one of the standard caps--with a larger air hole--because I like the fusion drip better with the regular cap and find it to perform like a totally different atty...not sure how varied the chamber size is as a result, but as you can see, there is quite a drastic difference. While I'm partial to the AFC, I know I'd just want a cyclone that could throw juice like magic first and foremost!!

Have you ever done any modifications in the past? I know I was thrown by just how easy it was...yes, compared to the brass RM2, SS is a whole different different beast but I think that the difficulty has been blown out of proportion a bit on this forum...I searched the forum and paid close attention to a few members in particular filthy-beast was one and another was something 'autocad' (which I remember only because I used that program in high school).

Also just looked up general atty mod advice in this as well as other threads, YouTube (very limited, surprisingly), and some of the other ecig congregation spots... lastly, I made sure I had the right tools (which if you're like me, already knew you did not have the right tools so found an excuse to get some sweet ish) and started working on similar modifications before jumping right into an 80$ device.

Anyway, good luck on which ever route you choose!

no US based website has both of these items in stock. I am willing to buy used i just dont think i can afford a 100 dollar atomiser with shipping from across the pond. someone please help!!

You could always post a "want" ad in the classifieds....
I think there is a top-fed cyclone with fusion tip for sale in the classifieds now if you want to take a chance on modifying it yourself...

I don't under stand the red finish.... Is that cyclone still stainless steel? What sort of finish is that? The reason I ask is because part of my reason for ditching the rm2 is that awful nickel coating on it. I'm interested in a stainless cyclone and fusion and for that much money I would like for them to match.

Haha, I think I read that the color run (were also available in blue and back) of AFC's were potentially aluminum and I also have the gold afc which I've read was a very limited run on some sites but have found no clear cut information on this... similarly, some places state they are actually gold plated where others give no additional details...definitely could see there being differences in the material used and i have noted a weight difference just in picking it up the red, gold, and SS cap variations...for what it's worth, I'm not even positive that the standard afc is all SS for that matter. I will say that each vicious ant product I have is impeccably made and that's what I have to go on. I'll include different pictures in a follow up comment.

I'm not too sure what you were asking, though...The enormous red cap IS the "cyclops"...it's what they call the AFC+cyclone deck. Some sites offered the package together for a bit more and the afc replaced the standard 'cyclone' top cap. I purchased this BECAUSE I wanted the red AFC...which in this case replaces the standard air cap with the same, and only, cyclone atomizer base...so in your case you'd be looking for the cyclone atomizer...what I was referring to was that I have a tf base because that was the only way I could get the red afc..
But I also happen to have 3 standard cyclone top caps and I only use one (paired with my fusion tip).

If I were you, I would limit the depth of my search due to the fact that these will only become more difficult to find. I would grab any cyclone bf first (cyclone rba indicates the standard cap unless otherwise stated) and simply use a standard drip until a fusion pops up somewhere...While I love the fusion drip, it's an afterthought to my favorite atty...not the same over cap fit feature but I still love VA's other drips as well...

Lastly, I have 6 reos with 4-5 sporting some cyclone variation...One ill use with tf for testing juices or with a modified tf-bf...but I still use my first Reo exclusively with the RM2 and building on that thing couldn't be any easier, especially compared to the cyclone which has a much smaller deck and far less room due to post orientation...Also the ceramic vs metal cup means I can orient the rm2 coil in ways I wouldn't risk with cyclone. Just my .02$.

The red afc is red throughout but identical in every other way...feels a bit lighter...This is how the fusion attaches making the chamber a bit bigger, actually. And this is VA's stinger drip...Unfortunately, the Chaplin drip which is one of my favorites, is currently on my gold afc and I can't remember where I put that Reo. Its very simple, but well made and pairs perfecrly with the afc. Long story short, I'd just get the cyclone and worry about anything else after...and I wouldn't turn down the afc, as I definitely prefer it to any other setup variation.

So how do you modify a cyclone? Are you just using a dremel grinding wheel to cut a channel in the center screw? Btw intaste.de still has red afc cyclones on sale for 46€. Could someone post a pic of the bottoms of a TF cyclone and a bf cyclone? I wonder if there is a conversion kit?

unfortunately there is not a conversion kit to my knowledge...I will be trying several mod variations for TF to BF...now that I have the screw out on the one I figure I will just use the dremel to create a channel down the post...I have bits and some lube coming tomorrow so I want to compare the two because as it seems, everyone who goes with a specific option, inevitably says that they prefer that option...I really want to see the difference, if drilling down the middle is in fact better, if the difference warrants the time it takes to actually do it, etc. etc.

pictures to follow in next post

You guys actually make this look easy. Is it simply removing the post, drilling up from the bottom to the desired depth then drilling the horizontal hole through so it is perpendicular to the hole you drilled through the center of the post?

I would be worried keeping a straight drill through the post from the bottom.

Oh, and I found a site that has the bottom feed Cyclone. With shipping to the states it is less than $80.
