Where can I find atomizers with a resistance higher than 5 ohms?

I have been vaping at 7.4v for a while now using a mech mod (GLV-2) with a 510 fitting and stacked 16340 3.7v AW's. Im buying (tomorrow) an AMP tank from avidvaper.com that uses a 510 atomizer and I'm also buying a King mech mod. I want to keep using 7.4v in my new setup. I know at 7.4v batteries can put out higher voltages when freshly charged. The math says that a 5.2 - 5.5 ohm atomizer would be the way to go if you don't wanna pop atty's frequently. The only problem I'm having is that I cannot find any 510 atty's higher than 5 ohm, anywhere. I've read forums where they said ikenvape.com had them. Apparently, they were called XHV atty's and they were in the 5.2 ohm range. I've looked, and they no longer stock them. But they do/did exist. Any ideas on where I could buy them? Should I just buy the 5.0 ohm atty's and quit being overly cautious? Any help would be appreciated...

what im wondering is why do you want to run stacked batteries in mods not designed for them?

a single battery and normal resistance device will work just fine, probably better as the wire on the wicks is thicker to get the lower resistance possibly creating more vapor.

just in case you dont realize it even though the voltage is double the batteries dont last any longer stacked - at 6v (3v+3V) they are done.

Not sure if its all in my head or not, but i like the HV mods. Ive used 3.7v, 4v, 5v. I just like the high voltage and vapor I get when using HV. I've been using HV for about 2 years now. Never had an incident using stacked batteries, not saying that it would ever happen though.

Are you aware of the safety issues regarding stacking batteries? Using matched pairs of batts, keeping them together, using one of them on top once and bottom next time? Checking them with a DMM regularly?

XHV attys just aren't very popular anymore. I'd buy a few of the 5.0 ohm and see if they last and give you a good vape. If they don't, you'll probably have to go with rebuildables.
RBAs are tough with 16340s because of they can't handle high amps, and RBAs generally require more current then disposables... you'd likely need to upgrade to at least 18350s, or go regulated with a DNA20 or similar(e.g. OKR) device. I think the DNA maxes out at around 4 ohms, but the OKRs will handle anything you throw at them.

You might try calling up or emailing Ikenvape and seeing if he can get you some... I haven't seen them anywhere for at least a year.
Stacked batts are somewhat rare these days, though the ridiculously large Congestus (26650s) has it's fans.

I am aware of the issues, and take all the precautions, and only use quality brand batteries. Guess I'm a rebel...

Was hoping that I wouldn't have to resort to rebuildables. I have a AGA-T2 rebuildable and the vape is great, I just don't like the hassle.
Genesis atomizers are a little trickier to build than dripping atomizers. Get an IGO-L or an IGO-W, they are much easier to build on. You do have to drip with them but it seems you were already doing that with factory made attys.

With a single 5+ ohm coil in an RBA, current will not be a problem. You could run it on most 18350's.

it is definitely in your head...

as others have said stacking batts in a mod not designed for them is.... unsafe, to put it kindly.

volts don't really matter. volts are an illusion... it's really all about watts. learn a bit about ohm's law and you will see that. it will only take an hour or two of reading here. then you will discover that your high voltage high ohm unsafe quest can be safely reached with exactly the same vape performance using a single battery with a lower ohm atty.

much, much more important is to learn about battery safety.

I really like the concept of the AMP tank and it's ease of use, I think I will go ahead and give the 5 ohm atty's a try. I could post about my findings using this combination, though, I'm not sure if anyone would find it usefull since I'm a newb. If it doesnt work out I may need to just force myself to drop my voltage cause I'm finding it harder and harder to find stuff to vape with HV.

I would also try 5 ohms if I were you and wanted to go the HV route. 5 ohms at 7.4V is about 11 watts and 5.5 ohms is about 10watts, so it's not like there's all that much difference there.

I vape my regulated mod at 15 watts using builds of 1.4-1.6 ohms, going straight mechanical my .5 ohm build is in the low 30 watt range. The only hassle about rba's is the time invested in learning how to do it properly and fine tuning a build for a particular atomizer. Once past the learning curve, I find they are the most trouble free and excellent vape that can be found. Need only change out the wick every few weeks, dry burn the coil to remove gunk build up and it's fill and vape daily.
