Where can I find authentic VTC5's?

A few weeks ago I ordered a pair on ebay and they arrived and appear to be the real deal. I wanted a second pair but I wanted to see what I would get before I ordered a second pair. The seller no longer carries them and it appears they're generally harder to find now.

I found 0 vtc5s on amazon at all.
I found 1 seller on ebay which used the words guaranteed authentic/genuine.($20ea which I think is too much)
Waiting to see if the forum members here who ordered from steamjuice got legit ones.

I know amazon and ebay are not recommended for finding authentic batteries

Basically, I'm wondering where I can find these from a reputable vendor for less then $20 a piece and why have these become so much harder to find in the past couple weeks?

The Sony VTC5 batteries are generally considered the best battery for sub-ohm vapers, so there is always a high demand for them. Within the last couple of weeks, there had been rumors that they had been discontinued so any stock still available would disappear quickly, so I'm sure that rumor caused even more sales. It's still not entirely clear on their availability in the future.

Yup, RTD has them back in stock...at least they did when I ordered a couple around noon CT.

There's more discussion on Reddit. It appears the Sony factory was damaged by an earthquake - and not that they are being discontinued. However, the issue is raised that Sony never intended these batteries to be used by consumers in the first place. They have an emphasis on fullfilling OEM orders for products, but not to furnish the consumer market.

Illumination Supply issued a recall/refund on their VTC5's.

AW is the most copied name on the market. It's a list of vendors that have gone out of their way to source authentic AWs. Safe to assume they've sourced authentic on other brands as well. [emoji6]

AW doesn't sell a battery that stacks up with today's battery tech. Samsung R series LG he2 and Sony vtc series all blow AWs best out of the water in current delivery and voltage staying power and do it with more capacity.

In case anyone cares or would like to know, it is because they sold some fake ones and were in contact with the customers who purchased them. Good vender.
