I agree, pretty much anywhere...... providing the establishment doesn't object, after all it is THEIR property.

Simple enough to educate yourself to properly explain it to an owner/manager and ASK their permission to avoid an objecting situation though. Its worked for me often doing that, and should they object....... I simply take my buisiness elsewhere...

this is quite true, greg .. HOWEVER .... this is still a "banned" product from health canada.

i wonder what police would say if they caught one of us using it. would they take it after asking questions? would they charge us for using it in public, either inside or outside?

i have vaped in the back of the bus or subway. some times i have vaped in the mall. i do the double inhale. it works.

heading into the washroom for a 2 min vape works well for me too

I doubt they would waste their time.

There is nothing illegal about e-cigs, except nicotine. Nicotine is covered in the food a drug act, something your local police don't enforce (or even know about). That act is enforced by health canada.

You local cop would 1) have to know about the Food and Drug act, not something he would ever use 2) take your e-cig get it tested to prove you have nicotine in it 3) charge you and take you to court, resulting in at worst $300 fine and or 3/months in jail (remeber that punishment is reserved for a guy who sells a tanker of pure nicotine)

Your local police department would rather use its resources to keep you in fear of "crime" so they can get more money in the budgit, and make money with more profitable ventures, such as speeding tickets.

Actually........

Its not a banned product at all !! HC has simply taken the marketing/vending of the product under their control & stated it can not be sold here without going through the processes required to do so.

And, as it has not met "those requirements of THAT process" it has issue a consumer ADVISORY only.

Good luck to any cop or other official that attempts to confiscate MY property within the statutes of the law at this point !!

I vape where I feel the need/desire too. I switched from analogs for this very freedom, and to date have had ZERO complaints. I work at a major bank, and from day one have been using my 510 at my desk. When I started vaping, I dint ask anyone if I could because in my opinion its easier to get forgiveness than permission. I vape at restaurants, malls, theaters, houses, the bus, taxi`s............

As mentioned, its a great way to meet people and everyone that has been introduced to it is really interested and on board with the whole act of vaping. The senior management at work have recently held a meeting to address the use of pv`s at work where there are 15 or more people using them at work now too, and management is on board with these life saving devices, we no longer have to stealth vape at our desks and have been given the green light to use them openly !

Its all in the power of a good testimony, and you catch more flies with honey than vinegar.

I'm pretty new to all this but for me, being able to "smoke" again in front of the tv or in my house in general is quite nice :) I do not smoke at my cube at work because I'm surrounded by non smokers but I go to the bathroom or in the IT lab where my smoker buddies are, they don't mind and are quite interrested by my e cig, they are just not fans of the american cigs flavours I had them to try, me neither but that's another story. I just try not to vape in front of my kids when I'm at home.

For now I still occasionally go smoke real ones with my usual patners at work but I plan to stop that sometime.

BTW, hi everyone, its my first post on ECF. And please forgive my not so awesome english, I'm Quebecois

I'm not sure it's just about legalities. It's legal to fart, belch and pick your nose wherever you want but I'm not convinced you should demonstrate that right at every opportunity.

There's enough jerks around claiming their 'legal rights' and they piss me off just as much as the politically correct crowd. I wouldn't want to ruin someone's night out at a restaurant just because they misunderstood what I was doing. The public can be educated into acceptance but pissing them off will just slow the process.

Vaping is a good thing and, for us smokers who are hooked, it's a blessing to our health. I'd rather vape in front of people who understood what I was doing and accepted it rather than getting my kicks from upsetting somebody just because I thought my 'rights' were more important than their well-being. It might also be the fastest way to get acceptance from the public in general.

I vape in my house - for me that's a big deal. I've never been okay with smoking in my home. I don't miss freezing. I've snuck a stelth vape inside: Walmart, Target, Barnes and Noble, and inside many non smokers homes (after getting their premission.) I don't wanna be rude and I don't always want to be a walking ad for e-cigs so I'm gentle about how I vape. I like the idea of vaping in a movie theater. Think I'll paint a cart condom to cover my led, and try it when I go to a movie next time.

I have just started vaping at my desk. No more smokers hut for me LOL! I recently moved to a more private cubie so its too easy to sit here and vape away, plus I received permission from my boss to go ahead, I didn't even ask, he just came over and asked what I was doing to quit smoking, he is a non-smoker and said, go ahead and smoke it at your desk if you want, I have no problem with that :)

I smoke in my car, I am worried that people will harbour nasty thoughts about me though when they see me vapour with my kids in my car, but oh well, they don't care so I do it.
