Just wondering what happened to chat room. Have not been able to get in it for two days now?

People are leaving because of the server issues as well. And a lot from the chat room searching for other ways to chat.
Well I guess it helps when you Google E-cigs, this site is one of the first to pop up.
From the mouth of our fearless leader SJ:

MHO I would take a fast server over a chat room any day. I have been on this forum at all hours of the day and I didn't see any real traffic on the chat room. If it helps the forum conductivity than I say permenantly oust the chat room. M2C
I like the forums. Don't get me wrong. Learned a lot. Helped a few. Been helped.
However, the chat is social. A place to say hey. There are other places doing it.
Sometimes I just wanna hang out. Not get too engaged. And occasionally there's a bit of repetition in the forums. Just sayin.

Yes it would be nice, but if you had to choose between the server being up or the chat room I think you would know the wise choice... because if we didn't have the forum up you wouldn't have the chat anyway... and we need some form of communication....

The sacrifices we have to make for being part of a great forum....that is steadily growing
I am sure SJ is working hard in providing and satisfying everyones wants and needs... I give him made props (like he really needs it from me)

I was attempting to be cordial. A little tact. It's harder in the forums. . . for me. That is.

The forum is great. I think I have spent 20 plus hours here since I first found it a few days ago.
But I also like the social interactive nature of real-time chat. Maybe we can conferrence chat on yahoo IM until chat here is up and running again?
I am definatley going to subscribe. Two bucks a month towards a bigger and better server - that is money well spent in my book.

Well taking the chat away has not stopped the server issues! When will the switch take place for the new server?
yes that is the reason chat was removed for the time being to help with the current server load. the new server is in the testing phase and will hopefully be online in the near future. SJ and Tech team will then readdress the Chat Room situation.

Don't get me wrong, Forums are amazing for answers & info... However, If I could ask my questions in a Chatroom & get an immediate answer instead of posting & waiting till it gets answered, or searching entire threads for a hint of an answer, I would choose chat !

With the way you get 20 members answering a post on whats the best E-Cig every 30 minutes you really don't have to wait too long for an answer usually, lol! Have you guys optimized the tables in the current version of VB that you have running on the server now? It helps my site when I have issues like what you are seeing. It's only a temp fix though and obviously you are going to a better server.
