I want to make my new vortex cartos into metal cartos. I had the thought that I could use the metal tubes off of my old Boge cartos, so I set about trying to remove the end from a Boge and after much pinching, prying, heating, freezing, and even a little oiling, I have a tube with the threading end still in it minus the threads and a pair of bent plyers. There has to be a better way. I don't really want to cut the tubes off because I want them to be as long as possible, and still fit my PCC. So I either need a better way to remove that part, or to just buy the tubes somewhere. At this point I'd almost rather just buy the tubes, but if there's some secret to getting the tube free of the threads, I'd appreciate knowing it. So does anyone carry the metal tubes for 510 cartos? Or maybe Home Depot carries the proper size of tube? Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

OK now this is just too weird. WHY?
When we had the CE2s we all wanted to mod them with clear tubes.
Now we have clear tubes and you want to mod it back to metal.

Hahahaha, yeah I'm weird. The CE2's are great clear because then you can see how much juice you have. With the bottom coil all you have to do is pop the top and you can see how much. Same thing for filling. Honestly, if it were just that I'd live with it. For some reason, however, they aren't making these in a regular size. I know I'm weird that way too, but I don't like XL's because they don't fit the PCC, and I'd rather have 6 flavors in my PCC than one big tank that only holds one flavor.

Unfortunately there is a .2mm difference between these and CE2s. (ID)
Sure it could be done but you will have to expand the metal tube a good bit to get it on.
As for a S.S. tube that will fit. I dunno.
However, If your only complaint is the length, just cut the top down to what ever size you want.

I had thought about just cutting it, then I noticed a small crack already forming at the base. I'd rather just have metal and not have to worry about it at all. One of these days someone will just make the perfect carto and I will just buy it. Blah. Thanks for the help.
I know a lot of people complain about the clear tubes not being tough. But I remember that those analogs were not so tough either. They would break in a heartbeat. ( I know, But they wouldn't leak when they broke)
You can 'recycle' a metal tube by attaching an old/dead battery and wiggling back and forth for about 10 mins, easier if you put something in the tube for leverage, like a wooden spoon handle. One of the two will start to give, and if it is the battery you can still hold it on and work the other one off.
