And honestly, the Itaste VV is a great compromise for someone in your position. It's small enough that you can get used to hauling it around easily, but big enough not to have the horrible performance of the little cigalike devices, and with variable voltage and variable wattage you'll figure out pretty quickly if you make much use of those features are not. If someday down the road you decide to upgrade to a bigger mod you'll have a much better idea what you want out of it than many people in the same situation.

Obviously I don't have anything to compare it, this being my entry. The main reason I went with the VV is because I didn't want something too bulky. The VTR and MVP just seem too big for my tastes. At some point down the road I may upgrade, but I'm satisfied with what I have now.

Don't get me wrong, the VV is a nice device. But driving a 30s tank, you may find the battery life disappointing. Dual coil takes some juice to drive. But, of course, your mileage may vary. I am a heavy vaper.

But, heh, yeah, the VTR is bulky. And a bit heavy. I like it because it's solid and I'm a klutz. :)

(Seriously, knock the thing over and off tables alla time)

Still, it fits easy in my hand. And the MVP is smaller. Not as bulky as it may seem in photos.

But that's a worry for another day...

I just started vaping 3 weeks ago, so here is my advice.

Since you speak of confusion reading stuff here, I'd suggest deciding quickly on a recommended starting kit that fits your budget. I found that once I had a basic vaper in hand (eGoC battery with an EVOD), everything I had trouble understanding here before finally made some sense. And now I know what I might want to improve on. For example, now I see that I really don't need a more powerful battery than the most basic 650mah eGo I have now, but that I might want to get a different tank, like the Aerotank.

I did research here a year ago, but it all got too complicated and I just gave up. So, if you feel that might happen to you, just make a quick decision and once you get the thing, it will all make more sense. (Also, get the right nicotine level.)

I second that mkbilbo. Have a VTR myself and I love the thing. I've been through a lot of batt's and mods over the years and the VTR is by far my favorite. The only downside is it's friggin' heavy. Usually stays at home or in the truck. Still, it's my favorite.

Also, I'm all for the 30s' s though recently started using a kanger aerotank and thinking about making that my new primary.

Anyway, welcome to the vaping world kryptik319 and good luck. Whenever you decide to upgrade your setup consider the VTR. You won't be disappointed. Happy vaping.

I've been playing with the wattage and voltage a little bit and haven't noticed much, if any, difference. Just something I'll have to keep playing with I guess.

Just remember it's an either or set up. You either change wattage or you change voltage. It changes modes depending on which one you set last. There's not much reason to use variable voltage if you have variable wattage available. I'd suggest just setting the voltage to the lowest setting, then setting the wattage to 8 and going up or down from there to taste.

You know, I don't mind the weight. I carry mine all the time. I'm rarely without it. Been known to type with it hanging like a cig from my mouth (not kidding, I'm doing it right now I just realized). For me, it's the other way round. Looked at an eVic but, nice as it was, it felt like it'd shatter if I so much as looked at it too hard. :) A lot of the mods struck me as too light and delicate. Heh, an eVic, I'd probably compulsively polish the thing all day.

Day two and I'm still impressed. I'm starting to get the hang of blowing rings too! Definitely ordering another tank and some new juice here soon.

Best thing is I haven't even thought about having a cigarette, it's so much better smelling that sweet vapor than that nasty smoke.

Yah, it's funny how quickly you start to wonder why you thought cigarettes tasted so good. They don't really! :)
