Over the past year or so I've been a member here people have also been talking about the next big thing coming out. Where do you all get this info? I've googled everything I can think of only to find shops claiming to have the newest mods. I'm not looking for that I want to read about the mods that aren't released, are in the works, etc. For example I saw somewhere that hcigar is will be releasing an authentic Dna40. How do people find out about this stuff?

That's where I'm at. I start looking into a mod, jump on here to do some research and BAM! Guess what that new mod you where interested in doesn't matter anymore cuz so n so is coming out with this in a month haha. Guess that's just the industry though. Which all in all is a good thing.

Some folks have ordered the Hcigar mod so we'll get some reviews shortly. I'm not trusting that board until several people green light it. The cloned DNA 40 temp boards have not been working out in other devices. Yihi's temp control board will be available in March and I'm guessing more widely available this summer if successful.

You can always scan reddit for posts on upcoming gear. Their community is very active and knowledgable although organization of info on reddit is quite lacking compared to ecf.

It would be interesting to see an authoritative blog emerge which tracks these upcoming devices. Hrm!

within my own thoughts....
I was just emailing a friend on here and telling them how i went to my local vape shop yesterday and asked to see an eLeaf iStick. They said they no longer carry nor was they ordering any of the newer 50w's because they was stocking better choice mods?! I didn't ask what those where because i was in a hurry, but i am curious as to what's so special about these "better mods" they was referring too?!

Curious to see what kind of mods come out in the next six months myself....so maybe i should put back my vape funds and just wait it out and see! :)

I ended up buying a Sigelei 50w v2 instead of the istick 50w. It was only $10 more on sale. What I give up in battery capacity, I get back in terms of a better board, better build quality, durability, replaceable battery (i.e. the sigelei is not disposable) and arguably a better vape.

The istick 50w is a fine device however and, if I were running a shop, I'd sell as many as I could given the demand. Your shop might be trying to position themselves as offering higher quality devices than those easily found on the internet--which is a mistake in my opinion when you can offer both.

That h cigar will have a 40 watt temp controlled chip, similar to an evolve, but not actually an evolve chip. From what I remember... And for the life of me, I can't remember where I saw it to remember it from. lol

Looks like some others have already pointed it out, but I was wrong, and it does have an authentic evolve chip. Todd has a review up if anybody is interested.

I like mine. The issue is that Hcigar didn't follow Evolv's guidelines for handling all the grounds. This will _likely_ only be an issue for people stressing the limits of the hardware, but apparently some have gotten units that display the low battery warning in error. I may switch the battery ground on mine to the board as recommended by Evolv, but if you wait a month on these I'm sure Hcigar will have a revised edition rewired.

tl;dr I haven't had any issues with mine and I really like it. It appears to be a tidily put together box and the DNA40 is a more accurate chip than the Yihi SX130 in my last mod. For the price I recommend it, with the caveat that you really should wait a month because current stock has issues that _could_ potentially cause owners problems.
