I tried the candle wick and all it did was burn...wrapped loosely or tightly or in the middle and it didn't matter. I'm sticking with silica.

Sent from my kitty paws...Phiniac Rugged Pyrex Glass Tanks

When using cotton wicks, you can't dry burn them, or you will burn the wick. I've been using cotton wicks (made from 100% cotton balls) for weeks now and have not had one burn while vaping. When the coil gets 'gunked up' you can remove the cotton wick, dry burn the coil, then thread a new wick through the coil. Or just build a new coil and wick.

I've been using sterile gauze, looks like a tightly woven cheesecloth but sterile.
Rolls up nice, wicks very well...:)
Well FWIW neither Walgreens or CVS carries any pure cotton gauze, it's all mostly synthetic fiber of some sort.

Try here.

Most drugstores or beauty supplies have cotton batten rolls or cotton balls, I normally just steal some from my wifes cosmetic stash.
Got some fresh cotton off a plant and got the seeds out but haven't tried it yet.
Sounds good. Bj. I would definitely recommend a good boiling before use though in case any pesticides had been sprayed before harvest.

Did boil. though it is one of the ornamental plants I grow in my business and try not to use harmful chemicals. Tried a wick in a vivi last night and it works very well. Can't really say any better than cotton batten, but just as good. Maybe a new business for me, offering cotton plants to vaperers, lol.
