I work for a large Internet company, and travel all over to our various offices. I vape in all of the offices I go to, and have converted about 8 analog smokers to vapers now. Obviously, I don't vape in the data center as that could be VERY BAD.
When I travel, I make it a point to talk with the converted vapers, showing off the latest gear I've picked up, and trade knowledge. We also share the different e-juices we're trying out, etc. I've basically built a small community inside the company. Even the VP of HR at my company has been recommending smokers talk to me about it.
I always vape at my desk. I did have one confrontation with an employee I manage asking me not to vape around them as they "were getting headaches" when I vaped in a conference room with them once, so I avoid vaping around that person to avoid an HR incident.
I also vape in conference rooms with vendors (EMC, IBM, DELL, etc) and have showed it off to them. I may have even converted a few of them to vapers.
I can't stand the smell of analogs anymore, and don't hang out with the analog smokers at their regular smoking places. The smell bothers me, and I don't like it on my clothes.
I haven't touched a cigarette since March 7th 2009, and have no plans to. I don't even feel the want to have one anymore. I'm perfectly fine vaping away.
The one place I don't vape is in airports, except for the restrooms there. I just don't want the hassle of the uneducated masses, and have nightmares of the mob with pitchforks. I also was summoned for Jury Duty, and didn't feel like taking my Janty Stick through security and having a run-in.
Any ways, I really wish people would become more educated about PVs and their positive effects on smokers. I smoked for 21 years, and stopped literally overnight. My doctor loves it, I feel healthier, and I tell every smoker I see about my experience. Of course, I don't want to be perceived as that ex-smoker who knows everything, so I try to keep myself in check.
Keep vaping!
