Last resort... could you scrape/acid off the black finish? I've got a few that started scraping off by themselves so I just helped them along the way with some paint thinners and a scourer

If you go to the smoketech website and ask them who there UK distributors are this would probably be your best bet. They have a live web assistant to help you out with customer service.
