I have a 510 passthrough that keeps blinking at me I think it may be getting a short or going dead. Anybody have good experience with long lasting passthrough? I am not really that keen on the ones that have a battery attached (May as well use my batteries in that case) I like the passthrough and this one was from kingpin

I use an eGo passthrough. It's just the same as an eGo 650mah battery but the USB cable plugs into the end of the battery.

I know you said you didn't want a battery PT but this works really well for me. I sit in my office and vape all day and if I need to step out I just unplug the cable and I'm away with a standard eGo.

The whole thing (battery & cable) only cost $4 more than a standard battery and its been working fine for about 5 weeks now.

My supplier is going to be no good to you but someone there will offer a suggestion.

It's an option.

If you can possibly swing it, I would suggest a Riva kit from LF. It's only about ten dollars more and you now have two batteries and you're never tied to a cord. The attys are just gravy. lol. The first kit I purchased over four months ago was a standard 510, and I also picked up a 3.7 PT (it has the aaa size batt) at the same time. It works well and I still use it, but now that I also have an Ego, I won't buy a new one if this one goes belly up. However if money is really tight, you can pick these up for around ten bucks. They work well any time you are sitting whether at home or in the auto, and save your batteries a ton. It still works when you unplug it but of course you still have the cord to deal with. Just my $.02 JD :vapor:

I have had my 2 ego pass through batteries (from Liberty-Flights) for a month and a half now. I have been using only 1 so I have the other one working when it wares out. They work great and produce absolute clouds with a new atomizer. HOWEVER, my atomizers have all died in less than a month. I even had a couple of old ones that manged to last a year.... Dead! No hiss, no heat, nothing. This is the first time, in two years, that I've ever had one die (510 or 901.) With the regular bats, they normally just get clogged beyond hope from dripping. I have turned to cartomizers now but LF has great customer service so I will contact them in addition to asking around in here.

Second, they burn hot so your liquid tastes bad sooner (but you get great vapor.) So you end up using liquid faster, which (for drippers) clogs the atomizer a lot more often. I'm lazy so I used to go up to 2 months before cleaning with the 510 batteries. I had to clean my new atomizers every 3 or 4 days with the eGo passthrough. Not only a PITA but some say cleaning too often kills atomizers quickly. Just FYI.

I also make sure to plug it in to a usb hub with it's own power supply (ac adapter) because I don't want to risk my computer's wimpy power supply. If that goes down it could cause a chain reaction, shorting out many parts in your computer. So GET A SELF POWERED USB HUB or use a wall adapter if you are not certain. Only high-end gaming systems come with big power supplies. A hub costs $10 on Amazon or Newegg.

Tip: Hubs are also great for a car when charging multiple devices, but again, use a car adapter like the one from Electronicstix that is made for pass through vaping or you'll blow a fuse.

Tip: My old cell phone's mini-usb wall charger works great! Go to Good Will or something and find one for 50 cents.

Anyway... Sorry for the long post but I saw a chance to review my new batteries and help a few people out so I took it.
