Passthroughs

I bought 510 passthroughs from Totally Wicked, twice, at separate times (one for work, one for home) in December during their Christmas sales. They have the battery in them. They lasted a short while, but now barely make vapor.

I thought they were supposed to save me some money by saving my other batteries. Is this just bad luck? Or brand? Or would the passthroughs without the batteries work better?

From what I've seen/read, the 510 passthrough aren't worth it. I heard that it really isn't a passthrough. A passthrough should go from a power source straight into the PV. If my memory serves me correctly, the 510 passthrough is a power corgi going to a re chargeable battery pack, then another power cord going to the 510 battery. So I think the flaw in that design is that first battery box, and I'm guessing if you aren't getting any more VAPE off of it, then yes it is dead.
You can replace it with a Joye Ego/Riva 510 passthrough, they usually run around $20, and don't have that battery box between the PV and the wall/computer.
I haven't used any passthrough myself, but I do have an ego one on order, I'm hoping to get it today, but more then likely tomorrow.

E to swap out the batteries in that little black box though. As I said all of my knowledge on the subject is only theory though.

I was planning to purchase the eGo pass-through battery. 650 maH should get me through.

And don't try to run a PT of a computer's USB or a battery charger's AC to USB. A PT needs 1-2amps, not 500mA. I use a 2amp 4-port USB to AC adapter and use either the PT alone on it or charge up to 4 batteries on it.

I've had the same 510 PT since September and it's still working just fine. If you've been using the same atomizer, then the atty might need to be cleaned or it might just be getting ready to die. I would also suggest trying it on a wall adapter instead of plugging it into a USB port on your computer to see if that works better.

I mean about the PTs. I've used the same atomizers and cartomizers on my mega 510 batteries and they work fine (yes, I'm going to have to upgarde to an EGO or something, since even the megas don't last long enough).

Thanks for all your replies. I thing the EGO PT without the battery might do the trick.

I have a 510 pass through and a ego pass through, i only use the ego.

The 510 is a straight through with no battery, manual, vape is weak though...idk why

the ego is a battery pass through so i can unhook it and use it not wired, works great.
