All good points, MistaK. As said, I don't go beyond reason! If they're way out of line, I let them know (non-confrontationally), about both on-line and about their competitors. You can't fault them for trying to make money, but if they're outrageously high, I do take my business elsewhere.

I don't think the markup is really about making more money, although owning a a business is about making money. I think the vape "boom" sparked a lot of customers, so the demand is really high. They either have to order more quantity or raise the price. I think these stores went with the latter. Sooner or later though, a lot of people are going to realize they can save a ton of money, and these brick and mortar stores are going to lose a lot of their profit.

I DID find a pretty well priced store in the Lakewood area though. It's a new store that opened up called "Super Vapes" I think? I like the idea they did with their juice. What a lot of vape shops do, is they post all their flavors, and no prices. If you want to know the price, you have to ask, and each brand name juice costs a diffferent amount. This place actually went half-way with the price, so all the juice is the same price, no matter where they get it from. I understand the price can change and the markup can change as well, so can get why the other vape shops do what they do but either way, actually listing your price is good business compared to all the other vape shops. Anyway, that vape shop's selection of mods is pretty good. One of the only places I've seen that sells mechanical mods. I think the parking is a bit too small for when they get busy though.

Agree with listing the prices, and with the desire that more shops would.

Hadn't heard about this new shop - more details? A quick google of the guessed at name came up fruitless.

I think as more B&Ms open, they're going to have to get a bit competitive on their prices. Not that I think they'll get to on-line prices, but closer! And there are times when, if it's close enough and the only thing you want at the moment, once you add shipping and wait time it might be worthwhile.

Sorry. It was with a Z. Here's the yelp page.
Super Vape'z Electronic Cigarette Store - Lakewood, WA

Well usually, when you compare other products like electronics and whatnot(on regular websites, not ebay and such), the prices can be very close, with shipping online making the purchase at a B&M store more sensible.(Pay an extra 5-10$ without having to wait) I think the markup doesn't have to be so huge that getting it online is always the more obvious choice. They can still make a lot of money without ripping off customers. I mean an ego twist kit for $75 is... insane in my honest opinion. Or it might be because the shops aren't buying them from the right place, but I don't know. I assume they get their stock at the same price I would get mine from a co-op, but charging 200% of what I can get it for? Ehhhh. It makes my decision to order online all too easy.

That's correct. It's right across the street from there.

Yes. I actually really like how vape shops are set up. At least for sampling e-liquids. I will gladly purchase (at least a couples time) juice from them if they have something I sampled and it's an amazing vape. It's a lot more convenient than ordering sample packs online and having juice that I'm not particularly fond of. It's just the pricing and how busy they sometimes are that can make it unpleasant. Otherwise, I'm all for more vape shops in the area. A lot of business have closed down around here, so it's a breath of fresh air to actually see business spaces starting to fill up.

Sorry to bump an old thread, but I thought I'd throw in my two cents. Most hardware store prices are competitive because makers do not allow stores to deviate from MSRP by more than 10%, generally speaking. However, stores frequently put together "kits" containing a charger, case, juice and extra tank or battery, etc. which costs a more than just a battery, tank and tip, but less than purchasing everything separately.

Juice prices seem to be pretty comparable across Pierce County. Steampunk in downtown Tacoma has the same prices as Vaporium, Vapors, etc. The added bonus of going to Steampunk, like most b&m stores is the tasting bar (and beer, wine and sodas at Steampunk, anyhow). Try as many flavors as you like and buy what you like. Of course, if you know what like, online is cheaper, which may be worth the wait.

What I really love is the personality of each store in Pierce County. These aren't just places to purchase product, they're also great places to hang out with cool, like-minded people!

Eastern Wa.
I was in Mt Vernon the first part of the month, and got a chance to go to Bellingham.
I wanted to check out Ecigexpress, as we don't have any shops on our side of the mountain.
It really wasn't worth the drive ... they don't have a "juice bar", or much to look at.
He said they had a couple of Pavari's but they sold.
They had some Vision Spinners, but no mechanics, Vamos, Silver Bullets etc types.
I picked up a couple of their "house" juices just to keep the drive from being a total loss.
I DIY, so don't purchase much in juices anymore.
Besides, I still have a ton of "samplers" left to use up.
I thought they would be tied into Mt. Baker, or at least "friends", but .....
I guess they get some flavoring from them,... but they don't even carry any of their juices.
Sounds like my next trip to the "other side" better be to the south instead of the north.

Going to visit a buddy from the forum in Walla Walla soon.
He found a new shop there, and they have a taste bar, so I'm excited about that.
Sounds a lot better than my trip to the "big city" turned out to be.

Anyone going to the "Vapefest" in Las Vegas in Sept ???? www.vapefest.com
Looks like it's going to be a BIG one

I emailed vaporium and asked him about the Fife location and he said that it should be opening up in the next few weeks. It will be located next to the poodle dog, he also says to like their Facebook page for updates.

Ps anyone know of any vape meets, I'm a new vapor and was thinking it would be a great experience to go to one of these.
