I started vaping in the fall of 2010 with a joye 510, after a few months of leaks and gross poly taste I drifted away. Then, in the summer of 2011 I came back and did more research and learned how to make my 510 work better for me and I even tried my hand at making a box mod which worked for me for awhile, but again, because of leaks or just improper use I faded away. At a point I had to drip every few minutes because my arty was just burning through everything.
I want to come back to vaping and I think I now know what I need for vaping to work for me. I need a variable voltage of some sort and a decent sized tank. I can't figure out what would be best or even what I should look for because the forum is so full... Please give me some advice on what to look at and what sites I should look at. Thank you for aiding my lungs.

Hi Brassett.

I dripped exclusively. I actually like it and still do it a few hours a day. For convenience I have switched to madvapes tanks with 2Ω dual coil cartomizers. Not one single drop has leaked in about a month and the performance is very good.

Assuming you don't mind the shape, they have cheap VV box mods as well.

I would get AW IMR 14500 batteries and not the trustfires. Sometimes, the DCC will trip the protection circuit and that is very annoying.

This combination has worked wonders for me.

All the best!

There are some good standard PVs out there. I like the gogo, battery lasts for 2 days, cartomizers are 3ml and you can purchase an adapter to fit 510 cartos and tanks.

Right now I am using my joye ego 650mah usb pass through with a kanger horizontal coil carto and I am loving it. Either one of these PV's would be great and work well.

I don't own a VV or a box mod, but what throatkick recommended would be good as well. Really comes down to personal preference.

Do some research here on ECF and check out the vids on youtube. Opinions are many and varied and there is SO much to check out here. I'd start with the 'new members' forum'.

I've been doing just that, but at this point the forum is so large and vast that if I search for Lavatube, I get twenty posts that are only relevant because of someones signature, another twenty that briefly mention it. Searching through this forum is like trying to find a specific Spanish doubloon at the bottom of the ocean.

I have been been meaning to try the tanks etc... but I have been dripping for 1.5 years because the cartos tainted flavor for me... I always tasted them etc... I love dripping.

I think an inexpensive mod... or even an ego 1000mah or higher set would be a good possibility - but DRIP tips might be important in your case as well... check out cherryvape or vendors that sell cherry vape tips... the tip can really enhance the experience these days...

i won an ego T a few months ago. I was using $100+ mods before this. What I wound up doing was taking out the bridge so I was dripping just on the coil. I didn't need a drip tip or anything because you just pop off the cart, fill it up a little bit and put the cart back on. The best part is that you can drip at least 3 times the amount in a normal 510 atty. Since I found the perfect dripping experience for me I sold my expensive mod.

Hi there;

Like you, I'm *not* a fan of the leaks...thankfully, the technology has completely evolved soooo much within the last year or so, almost to the point where the old-school atty/cart set-up seems obsolete. A couple things that I really like:

- The newest revision of the CE2 XL clearo's. These things really are nearly indestructible. The base doesn't separate anywhere near as easily as the past revisions, either. While I'm unsure if it's just the batch I ordered or otherwise, they do tend to not wick as great as they should...but, a couple light squeezes in the center of the carto and you're back in business. No leaks is also nice. Only downside: you have to refill them with a syringe, so it's best to have an extra filled one for whenever you have to leave the house/go to work/etc.

- The newest "Vision" tanks. Not as sturdy as the normal CE2's, however they make up for that in many ways. Max fill capacity of 3.5ml means vaping all day on a single fill, they almost always vape to the very bottom of the tank, and they have large fill-holes so you don't have to deal with syringes. GotVapes makes these little silicon(?) bottle nipple-things that make filling them a mindless affair, not too sure if anyone else does too. Negative here: they're not too sturdy at the base, even with the latest revisions. Definitely make sure you grab a Vision "cone" for them if you plan on rocking them with an eGo batt, that'll save you some serious headaches. They vape really nice on a regular 510 batt, too.

Hope this helps you out!!! :D

(EDIT: Oh, and ***STAY AWAY*** from those "VV eGo's". Those things are JUNK: they either break apart at the point where the button assembly joins to the housing, short out, the positive wire breaks off internally, overheat and cause a mini-meltdown, or some combination of any or all of the previous. I bought something like 5 kits: one each for me and my girl, and the other 3 for friends - out of all of these, not a single battery remains functional. )
