Oh goodness...I do not see any complaints on current one owned listed.

Then one word: adapters (I have battery..now I can use 808 cartomizers..901..801 etc. madvapes and good prophets are two places that I know have a ton of them!)

A second word: MAH battery life (when out and about do you run out of battery power..sick of c harging all the time)

Third: Volts (is 3.7 doing it..curious about 5 vollts? passthrough maybe 15.95 madvapes.com)

Those three primary words are all you really need to focus on for your next purchase.

Fourth consideration: Are you form over function? (do I need something pretty/keep up with the jones OR am I a modder who LOVES Getting the most recent thing for next to nothing in money lol see madvapes)

Consideration- juice BOX (just gotta add that- since it is Unique and I am lovin it so far)

Cartomizers are hard to refill though. You either have to master one of the refilling techniques here on the site (both sound dicey to me)....or you just throw them out and buy new. Not sure how much price difference that would be, but I tend to think it's similar to the "cigarette-type" electronic cigs like Blu and Greensmoker. And those are more expensive than analogs.

I know Vapor 4 Life sells the KR8 and supplies so you could find out a little more about the prices.

Some folks find cartomizers more convenient, as they are made to be disposable so you just use and chuck. This is not very economical, so many people have little methods to refill them. The main advantage of cartomizers is they hold LOTS of liquid, so therefore last awhile between fills. It is also easy to swap flavours, as each cartridge has its own "atomizer". KR8 users like to sit down and refill a bunch of cartomizers at a time, and then they are stocked up for the day.

The 510 atty is more performance oriented, and will give you thick, smoke-like vapor and LOTS of it. Those who have tried both feel the 510 simulates smoking an analog the best. It will use more juice (more vapor = more juice) and the carts don't hold as much to begin with, so you'll be topping off more often. This can, however, be solved by one of the easy cart mods that take less than a minute and cost next to nothing to make (see blue foam dart for example). Another plus is that carts can be refilled very easily.. drip drip drip drip.. no cartomizer condoms or any of that to worry about.

My suggestion is if you are currently happy with the 510 (and don't feel it is inconvenient) and are looking for a step up, the KR808/cartomizer route may not be the best option. The Bartleby or 5v mods seem to be the next step. Best of luck ;)

I have the Ego with both manual and automatic batteries. I bought the 510/901 stainless T-tips from Super T manufacturing for the manual batteries so I can drip directly on the atomizer instead of having to use cartridges. This works great and I don't use cartridges anymore. Just 2 or 3 drops directly on the atomizer through the hollow tube in the T-tip. I buy stainless (paperless, no labels) blank cartomizers and use them with the automatic eGo batteries with a 510 to cartomizer adapter I purchased from altsmoke. I used to use kr8 batteries but you can't beat the life of the eGo battery. I use to have to charge the kr8's constantly and make sure I had a handful when I left the house. If you're curious about cartomizers, just get the adapter and use cartomizers on your eGo. It is fantastic. The cone adds to the draw and flavor. The battery lasts and lasts. Actually, I love the draw the best with cartomizers on the eGo auto batteries. Manuals for dripping at home; but if you prefer manual batteries, cartomizers work well on them also. It's just a matter of preference.

I also love the Bartleby 3.7v box mod. An individual makes these per request and are easily purchased by him. Great reputation. It produces good throat hit and vapor for a 3.7v. It also has a slightly higher voltage under load (with attached atomizer in use). The Ego under load is about 3.1v as per Scottbee on another thread. I always have both with me (eGo and Bart). Bart also has a usb charging capability so no other charger is needed. It uses the 14500 battery and last 6 - 8 hours. My only issue with the Bartleby is that it is a box and I tend to like the cylindrical shape better. I just ordered the new 3.7v device from ProVape which is on pre-order now for just this reason. It also uses the 14500 battery. I just like the looks, shape, and colors. I'm also working on my collection of PV's. I expect it to vape like the Bartleby but the only difference is the shape and color.

Honestly, you already have one of the best devices at 3.7v with classy looks to boot, and an XL battery coming out for an even longer lasting battery. Use adapters, try cartomizers, and try the eGo automatic battery with the cartomizers. also try direct dripping with T-tips. You'll have all the variety and convenience you need just making additions with your eGo. There really isn't that much difference in vaping other 3.7v devices other than looks and shapes and colors. Unless, of course you want to have a collection as a hobby. Just my 2 cents.

Actually, the 510/eGo has turned out to be a 3,1v device, not a 3,7v device. And while quite a few people talk about more voltage, there are others who like their 510 as intended, thank you very much.

So, before investing in a 510 mod, I'd recommend a KR8 battery and an adapter. If you like it on 3,7v, fine, you can think about a big one, or even 5v. If you find you like it better in its original state, you can use that KR8 battery to try other atties, the 901 fits natively, the 801 with an adapter. As those two are intended to run on 3,7v, it's better to try them not on a 510 battery, they get less power than intended by their maker. Although I have one flavour which I actually prefer in a 901 on 3.1.

Two-parters are a neat idea. Only so far, I'd think twice. The KR8 is downright dangerous, in my opinion (Burned filling IIIIIIIVV), the Greencig somewhat expensive and only available pre-flavoured; and I have heard other things than unambigous praise for at least some of those flavours.

Me, I am perfectly happy with my 510s and eGo, and very occasionally a 901. I'll very likely try the BabyJ when it comes out, but I really don't think I'll switch to it for a great deal of time.
I rather spend my time concocting my own liquids. They are, after all, the other important thing with vaping ;)

I've got both the eGo and KR808D-1.

I love how much juice, and how long each cartomizer lasts on the KR808D-1. Vapour production is really, really good and flavour is okay.

However, I find that the flavour on the eGo is much, much better. You can really taste the difference side by side and since getting my eGo I hardly use my 808.

Also, I find that the draw of the 808 is a bit too light for my liking.

As others suggested, I would say don't go for the 808 ... I've totally replaced my 808 with my eGo and I think you'd be wasting your money if you did!
