Where to begin - so frustrating!

Hi all, as you can see Im new to posting here but have been trying to research where to begin for days...i apologize in advance if I sound frustrated (probably why I smoke to begin with lol!)

Right now I don't own any e-cig and I keep reading posts of people saying just research the forum but I have to say the more you read the more confusing it is to make that first choice!

I basically smoke a pack a day of Marlboro Lights. I obviously want to kick the habit but I love smoking. vaping seems the best option. I live in NYC and am always on the move and I like to smoke while strolling and going one place to another. Which is why I need something convenient and simple. I enjoy cigarettes but I dont want to have to take the time to smoke one.

I have looked at Blu and that seems to be the most convenient option for people on the go as you can continually charge it. However so many say that the cartridges run out quick and that it doesnt produce good vapor and that just seems annoying. I just want something to mimic my marlboro lights. And how is it possible I can charge these ecigs on the go? The pack/charger gets charged and then it wirelessly charges your ecigs when not around an outlet?

Then theres ego and joye 510 that ive been reading about and it seems like they produce great vapor and throat hits but everytime you want to vape its like you have to assemble a rocket ship. I dont want to have to deal with replacing batteries and atomizers and this and that all the time. I dont want to have to think about modding, dripping, etc - I want my fix quick and easy.

Are there other brands that encompass all the qualities im looking for?

Then another thing that bothers me is reordering cartridges or juice or atomizers etc. How often am I going to have to do this? Do I have to wait for them to get shipped to me every time? This seems like a sure fire way to send me back to analogs (lol love that term).

So basically Im confused. Money is not an object - but convenience and quality are. What do I do? Where do I start? How much do I order? What should I expect from battery life?

I didnt want to have to make this post but I just couldnt make a decision by researching alone....thanks in advance:confused:

I've worked in NYC for 18 years and live in NJ. I hear horror stories about shipping for the Blu. The Volcano is the same thing with better service from what I've read. If you want something similar in size though, I say go with the Sidesho from modernvapor.com, or maybe even their 902 (just slightly larger). Customer service is outstanding and Tony will help you through anything. They have a sub-forum here that you can read reviews about the Sidesho, 902 and the support. Feel free to read my thread in New Members also...

If you want all the convenience of smoking cigarette in an ecig IMO you want find one. All of them require work. You are either recharging batteries working with atomizers to produce good, refilling carts and mixing eliquid or using eliquids. There will be some cleaning of the atomizers. You can buy cart already filled but these are expensive and never last as long as they say. You can never leave home without extra charged batteries, either cartridges or eliquid and some extra atomizers. This all can be time consuming and frustrating.

For my health I deal with all of this. I've seen dramatic improvement in my condition. It is all worth the effort I put into vaping. But this is not as easy as just buying pack of cigarettes and just lighting it. But if you want to quit cigarettes IMO this will work.

Forgive me, Amassaic; I'm new to vaping, so you'll likely get better info from the veterans here. Sorry to spam-up your thread. :(

Plus, there's a 15-post minimum, in order to put up links, and I'm keeping my replies fairly succinct, for now.

Sorry. ~ Bamm

I use vapor4life,Its an easy 2 piece model with cartomizers.I use it because I want to vape and not mess around with refilling. It can be purchased with a charging case,Which makes it very convienient to use. They even have sampler packs of cartos so you dont get stuck with flavors you dont like.Should you choose to reuse them, the cartomizers are refillable.Just my opinion.

Also, if you have any more specific questions after reading my post, I'd be more than happy to answer them as best as I can.

Hi and thanks for referring your post but again, it just seems that everything you did is just more than Im willing to deal with to smoke an e-cig....there has GOT to be a more simple way...but then again, i have never experienced one and I can imagine the simpler ecigs would probably lead me to the more complicated ones...either way, still confused...just want to make this decision already...obviously im the stereotypical impatient NYer

After reading your post. It is possible you will like the KR808D-1(KR8). It has more of the qualities that you may be looking for. There is NOT ONE that posses all of your wants, if there were then there would be only one model still out there. There are a few suppliers that offer a kit that has a pcc that you will plug in and charge up. It will allow you to charge the battery when you are not using it.You can get about 4 battery charges off the case before you charge the case again. It is one of the slimmest pcc's out there. All carto's have to be filled at some point. With the KR8 you can buy about 12 cartos (what the nic liquid goes into) and fill them once a week and be good to go for the week,IMO. Really depends on how much you use it. Probably 4 batteries should get you started and if one dies (won't hold a charge anymore) then you order the replacement. On the carto's, they will burn out over a couple weeks and you will also have to replace those as they die.
This is a 2 piece system and is one of the easier ones to use. If more vapor is what you want, use the vg based liquids, not pg. A thread you should read is linked below.

Hope this helps.

You carry a PCC (Personal charging case). Many models have them; it basically charges up a spare battery so it's ready when you need to swap out, then it charges the first battery while you vape the second one.

I dont want to have to deal with replacing batteries and atomizers and this and that all the time. I dont want to have to think about modding, dripping, etc - I want my fix quick and easy.

Try the Vapor King from Vapor4Life. At the risk of sounding like a broken record, it's the best in terms of convenience and quality of vape. The batteries are fairly long-lasting in the regular size, which is the size that fits into the PCC. You screw the cartomizer onto the battery and that's it - you're good to go.

Then another thing that bothers me is reordering cartridges or juice or atomizers etc. How often am I going to have to do this? Do I have to wait for them to get shipped to me every time? This seems like a sure fire way to send me back to analogs (lol love that term).

No matter which e-cig model you choose, you will have to ensure that you have enough supplies on hand. We're not yet at the point where you can walk into your local convenience store and grab some cartos. With the VK from V4L, a 2-piece e-cig, the atomizer and cartridge are combined.

Just plan ahead, order enough that you don't have to worry about running out, and re-assess your needs after your first week or so. You'll likely want to try new flavors and strengths. Once you zero in on your favorites, you just place an order for enough cartos and juices to last several months. It's not difficult. The REAL difficulty lies in stopping yourself from ordering too much...I speak from experience.

Thank you! Your post has been the most helpful so far and I think Ill try this one...

if its not too much trouble, can you tell me exactly which starter kit to order and what I should order for a months supply (considering i smoke a pack a day). I think this is the adequate amt of time for me to see if vaping is right for me. There seems to be alot of choices on there. Id like a tobacco flavored one similar to marlboro lights but would also like to try a few flavors. Also do I go with automatic or manual? Is the difference between the two just a button to press on ecig?

thanks in advance!

Hiya,

I just joined the forum....and just started vaping today. I also was looking for someplace simple and easy to start. It appeared to me that Vapor4life filled this requirement, so I went that route. If I want to get into refilling and saving money, I can look into that later. But the simple Vapor King system seemed a good place for me to start and decide if any of this e-cig stuff was for me at all. Charge it up, put the two pieces together....done. Mine are charging right now....but I am using the direct USB version they sent along too. Smoking via computer is a bit odd, but I haven't smoked a real cig yet today, so that's progress.

Good info. It sounds like I'm on the right track. I have the 808 comng next week and some extra e-juice. However, I didn't realize the cartomizers burn out that fast. That means I need to figure in another $1 per week for replacing cartomizers then. Does that sound about right? Wherever I search, the blank cartomizers are just as expensive, if not more, than the ones with juice. That doesn't make sense to me.

Didn't mean to hijack the thread, but I still have related questions.

It really depends on how hard you are on the cartomizers. Some will last much longer. The UU kit is a good start. You should pick up a bottle or 2 of the refill, also. Do not get the 20ml size though as they are not the (last I looked) same as the liquid in the cartomizers. Below is a link to the sub forum.
