Well guys, this is my second day in the vape world, the biggest prob im having is it makes me cough, im going to order a variable voltage battery and see how that works for me. I was told that if i would switch to VG i prob would not get the coughs when i take a hit. So i went and looked around the forum and other places on the net and some say a blend of 50/50 would do me just fine. I figgured out its trial and error when you first get started. Glad i found this forum it has helped me out a ton, thanks again everyone

Don't be afraid to spend the extra cash on your first mod. "Buy your last mod first". If you really want to quit then make sure your first experience is a good one. As for the Marlboro taste I doubt you'll find one that tastes like a cig. Your best bet is to find something you like better. I myself was a Marlboro lights smoker and tried a lot of tobacco flavored juices, and I didn't care for any of them. Surprisingly my first favorite juice was a cola one. And I bought just for laughs really. You might be surprised to find a flavor you didn't think could work also.

Now my favorite juice is White Lie from HHV. It's a coconut/pear blend but very mild in flavor. So mild that for me it's become my best cig substitute. Also if your like smoking menthols you won't have any problems finding a flavor that reminds you of a menthol cig.

Good lck :)

Sometimes it's the vaping technique. If you don't already, try drawing a mouth full and then inhaling.

While VV is a good choice, I don't think that's going to alleviated the cough, although being able to adjust may. A lower voltage on the same coil will produce less vapor, so it may not be as satisfying. But worth a shot!

Sometimes, too, it just takes a few days to adjust from inhaling burned plant material to inhaling a vapor. The lungs need a bit to adapt.

Good luck, and welcome to ECF!

VV will definitely make it easier to adjust the "strength" of the vapor. The amount of nicotine and the juice itself also pals a role. I'm vaping mostly 60/40 or 70/30 24mg. Some of them does feel too strong in an RBA on a mech mod but on my Provari I can adjust it too my liking much easier.

hey Steve welcome to Vaping!! first off i wanna say don't judge all tobacco juices upon your first experience with one juice. I am a big tobacco vaper and i have tried many tobacco flavors from different vendors and some i like and some not so much.

I was a Marlboro red smoker for 28 years and i set out looking for that flavor. Unfortunately you will never find the exact flavor because alot of the flavor from smoking comes from burning paper and the burning of the tobacco its self.

I have settled on a couple flavors from AVE ( Alien Visions E-Juice ) there C&D and Flue Cured tobacco are pretty good. They have a clean flavor and great vapor. To me they taste like how Marlboro's used to smell when you first open the pack (not when smoking them) and this has settled me into those 2 flavors. Congrats on taking the first steps to get off the stinkies and vape hard and vape long.

Hi Steve, I coughed a lot too. It does get easier on your throat. Remember we coughed a lot when we started smoking and it went away, same thing with vaping. One of the people at work handed me his rig to try his juice, I told him the hits were alot smoother than on mine, to which he replied that his vv eGo was turned down, not as strong. I then got my own VV and low and beholed, less coughing. Now I go a bit low power first thing in the morning to higher during the day.

me too Steve, i remember my first vape experience, i was at a neighbors house, we all smoke. i was telling them how i was going to quit and the silver bullet i held in my hand was the key to my success, i had some nasty backy 24 mil in my tank, i took a large lung hit and i coughed so hard i had **** streaming out of all my orifices!! they laughed their a**** off and told me yeah right, so i stepped back, took mouth hits only, now that my throat is good/recovered from cigs i am doing full lung hits and i can almost disappear in my vapor, using cinnamon, sweets, and coffee mostly. but i never turned back once i took the first knee dropping hit. fun huh!

OK guys and gals thanks again, just to let everyone know i only do mouth hits, i cant and never have been able to do a lung hit with w/e i was smoking. i am looking at a few adjustable batteries and a few clearamizers, just gotta wait for pay day to get here lol

If it's not your inhale technique, you could have your nic level too high (some like "throat hit" but it makes me cough, even as a smoker it did). Or, in a similar vein, I know I (and others) do find VG a "smoother" vape. But, also, some folk report allergic reactions to VG so you might need less or none af all (all PG). You might try small samples of different variations, see what works better.

Well, I guess I share a similar history as others here, 20+ years of PPD marlboro. Steven, I started with an eGo kit from a local shop, 2 650mah batteries, charger, and 3 refillable cartos for around $90. I tried their "tobacco" flavors and found them to be not that great. Then I tried RY4. This cut my analog usage in half. I got a new clearomiser in on friday to try out and some different RY4 from an online vendor and haven't had an analog since then. And I agree with others here, start with 24mg and work down. I tried 18 off the bat and it was not enough for me. With some experimentation you will find what works for you. It won't happen overnight, but in time it will. Just have patience and and open mind, because some of what you try you certainly will not like (ask my wife :D).

BTW, I ordered the same juice in PG and VG. I'm mixing about 70/30 PG/VG to smooth out the throat hit a little.

I bought from myfreedomsmokes.com, they offer some sample packs of juice as well. 10 flavors, 3ml each for $19.99. If that helps ya out. :)

Buy yourself ego if your curious. I decided to skip all that and bought a Nemesis and Doc Dave Steam Ti Turbine. I've seen and tried an ego a friend owned and not impressed. The 22 mods harder and are the way to go. The positive side is that you pay for what you get and you can resell and get all your money back if you find its not for you.

(Nicotine Strength: 18 mg/ml (Medium), Blend: PG 50% VG 50% , Bottle Size: 15 ml, Extra Flavoring Shot (.25 cents per shot): 2)
1 x Butterscotch E Juice Baker Vapor
(Nicotine Strength: 18 mg/ml (Medium), Blend: PG 50% VG 50% , Bottle Size: 15 ml, Extra Flavoring Shot (.25 cents per shot): 2)
1 x Caramel Apple E Juice Baker Vapor

(Ohm: 2.5)
1 x SmokTech Ego Winder Variable Voltage Battery

Should i have ordered a needled bottle to fill my tanks or are the bottles from mtbakervapor.com easy to get the juice out of?

I sent them a email asking them if they can change my coil pack to 1.8 ohm, was told the 2.5 or more for the MODS, so hopefully i did the right thing here with everything i ordered, if not can just order something else lol

BTW is $99 for a LAVATUBE "LAMBO" VARIABLE VOLTAGE MOD a good deal? This is what it comes with for $99
X1 Variable Voltage LAVATUBE Chrome Body
X2 CE4 Atomizers
X2 2200 mAh batteries
X1 18650 Single Battery Charger
X1 Carry Case
X1 10ml RiZe eliquid of your choice.

Hi Steve,

Haven't ordered from MBV, so can't say about their bottles, but looking at the pics they have, they should be fine for filling CEx and Evods. You'll need to be careful on the Evods, but if they're "standard" bottles they're like what I use. A needle tip bottle is easier for the BCCs, but not needed.

Since you've ordered a Winder, yes, the 2.4/2.5 heads are a better choice, since you'll have more "room" to adjust the vape. If you go with the 1.8, you pretty much lose the top end as too high a voltage will produce too much current and you're pop the coil.

Haven't priced out the Lambo in some time, but for a kit that doesn't look out of line. (I'm not a big fan of the CE4, as it's not rebuildable, but they can give a decent vape until they gunk up.) But it's good to try both the bottom coil and top coil, as the vape is different, and you may prefer one over the other. Don't know till you try!
