I finally figured out that it's best to buy higher strength juice and cut it to lower the strength. I know, I'm a slow learner. ;)

Anyway, I started cutting it with glycerin, but I find that it's too sweet and makes me nauseous. I'm trying to cut 36 down to 12, so that makes it 3 parts glycerin, 1 part juice. I'm wondering if PG would be better to mix with, maybe it won't be so sweet.

I've googled it, but I'm a little hesitant to buy it online. Do pharmacies sell it? Walmart? Any other places I could check in my tiny town? Thanks in advance.

You can ask your local pharmacy, but that's hit or miss. Ask the pharmacist for it, and make sure you're getting the right thing, as I had three of them direct me to the mirilax.

Feed stores apparently carry it, but you have to make sure the brand they have is USP grade, and not feed grade.

I got mine online, after striking out locally. Juicyliquid.com carries it, and it's like $2 for 30ml. They also have some other supplies you'll find handy for mixing your own stuff.

I'm sorry, I wasn't very clear in my original post. I don't mind the online part - in fact I love buying online, it's so much easier. The part that concerned me was that I would buy the wrong thing and poison myself with it. LOL

I checked out Juicyliquids, and immediately ordered 150 ml. For $16 including shipping, I figured that was a whole lot better than running around all over the place looking for the right thing.

yvilla, I checked your link and the price is fantastic! But the shipping was really high. I decided on the juicyliquid because even though it's a bit more expensive, I get the little bottles for mixing in as well. As inexperienced as I am, I think that'll help until I get more comfortable with what I'm doing.

Thanks for your help, everyone!

I need some help here. I purchased some on Ebay from a seller named QualiChem, which happens to be the owner of Qualichemtech . com. the bottle says Do not use directly as a food additive, as well as If ingested, drink several glasses of water and induce vomiting. also, something about washing it off your hands immediately because it will cause irritation.

the seller specifically lists one of the uses as "An ingredient in e-cigarette juices". it says Technical Grade. I'm a little nervous that this isn't the correct stuff. thoughts?

Loogie, I wouldn't use it unless it was USP grade!
I notified the seller and explained that his ad said food grade, yet what I received was Technical grade and had a plethora of warnings. he told me to flush it down the toilet and that he would send me the correct bottle on Monday. good fella so far.

Helllo guys,

This topic is my top e-cig priority at the moment.
It will be so helpful as I cant really figure out what actually is PG and VG

As I am located in Bulgaria these cannot be purchased online (which would be the better option as online purchase would guarantee that I`m getting the right thing...)

Could anyone give me the link in the forum, or any other...that explains what actually is PG and VG...?

Where can I buy it locally - in the local pharmacy ??
-I`ll go today to check with them buy I`m so worried that I will NOT get the right thing....

I also cant find information on what is USP or food grade....?

Any available information will be soooo helpful for me - I was looking in the Liquids section in the forum but for some reason (call me nub or dumb..but it is better to ask first) I cant find the information that I need to make sure I`ll get the right thing...

Also I think that PG would be better to purchase as I read some posts that VG actually causes stomach disorder.... am I headed in the right direction?

Thanks in advance and apologies for the many questions.. :)

Cheers and Happy Easter guys..;)

Viachy, PG is propylene glycol. VG is vegetable glycerine, also known as glycerine or glycerol.

USP is the certification of pharmaceutical grade proucts in the US, a safety rating essentially. In England, the comparable rating is BP, for Brittish Pharmaceutical.

You ought to be able to souce either or both in a local pharmacy, but of course I wouldn't know for sure, being in the US.

Another place we can find PG here is farm supply stores (used for cows actually).

Some people have reported stomach upsets with glycerine, especially if a high percentage relative to their nicotine liquid is used, but not everyone has a problem with it, and not usually when a smaller percentage is used. But that can also often be found in stores that sell supplies for cake decorating and candy making (and flavors as well can be found in such stores).

Well, I hope that helps.

Technical grade PG is the grade that they use in anti-freeze, de-icers, heat transfer fluids and other equipment. It usually has additives in it for whatever application it's used for. Not good for consumption.

USP PG is usually pretty close to 100% pure PG. This is the one that is considered generally safe for use in food.
