I recently ordered a Chimbus, others know it as the Nimbus Clone from FT. I really hate the island wrench screw thingy majiggers. I've heard that the IGO-L screws fit perfectly on it so I'm planning on replacing them. So where could I buy these screws? I've called every laptop repair, hardware, hobby store in my area and no one carries them.

Also does anyone know exactly what size the IGO-L screws are? Thread pitch, height and such?

My ERA clone uses an M2 x 4 mm screw, but don't quote me on that if it doesn't fit your chimbus. I'm surprised a laptop repair or hobby store in your area doesn't carry them. I got my screws from my old laptop. I also found the same size screws in various old electronics.

Try ebay for some cheap screws.

I don't know what material you should be using, but I guess stainless steel or anodized aluminum would be the two safest option.

I have access to tons of laptop screws at work but I prefer to use SS screws. I buy all my hardwrae from Mcmaster, orders get delivered the next day in my area.

The stock IGO-L screws are M2 x 4mm (probably more like 5mm since they are a bit longer than 4mm), thread pitch is .4mm. Most of the China made atties use M2 x .4mm pitch screws.

If 4mm length works for you & you don't want to buy bulk screws from Mcmaster, Kidney Puncher sells them.

I don't know if that's the real name but you know the screws that require that pentagon tool to get off.

Oh, I see. The L wrench is called a hex key, the screws without heads commonly found I atties are called set screws here in the US, many other countries call the grub screws. The screws with the heads on them are called SHCS (socket head cap screws). Many people call them Allen wrenches or Allen screws but Allen is just a brand/manufacturer, not the inventor.
