So I've heard that volcano will be supplying their lava tube kits with the AW flat top 18650's. Where does one find these? Seen lots of AW button top batts but cant seem to find the flat top version, and this device is fussy when it comes to finding a battery that fits. I know that Volcano will stock them but would like another source.

Any help would be great :)

Thanks!

Avid Vapor carries a MNKE IMR 18650 that's flat top. That's the one I'd go with if you can't use a button top.

I saw where Volcano said they will be supplying a AW IMR Flat top with the Lavatube but I've never seen a AW IMR flat top 18650, made me go humm.

My thoughts exactly, where does one find these elusive flat tops? Thank you for your help :)

I tried the blue trustfire button top and its just a tad too long. Its almost like the device was designed around these pinkish red no namer 18650's. But they hit like crazy! i've been using it all day and the voltage isstill reading @ 4V !

From what I've read with people trying different batteries, I'm thinking the AW IMR button top should fit since the Trust protected ones are just a tad to long. Might not be able to screw the cap all the way down but enough to hold it in and make it work.

I'm sure someone will try different batteries when this mod gets in more hands, it's still new and not that many have it yet.

Doesn't the provari take the same type 18650 batts. ProVape E-Cigarettes: Buy Electronic Cigarettes & Smokeless Cigarettes I have a lavatube on preorder and plan on using my provari batts.

They both use a booster circuit so you'll want to use IMR with them due to the higher amperage drain capability of IMR. Unlike the Provari the Lavatube calls for a flat top IMR rather than a button top IMR. Flat top IMR is harder to find but still not that bad. Volcano says they will be providing a AW IMR for the Lavatube but I personally have never seen a AW flat top IMR which is why the op started the thread. There are 18650 IMR flat tops available though, avidvapor sells one.

The only batty I know for sure won't work in the Lavatube right now is the Trust/Ultrafires Protected which you wouldn't want to use anyway due to it not being IMR. AW button tops may or may not work although they aren't recommended but they are a little shorter than the Trust Protected ones due to not having a protection circuit. You'll probably start to see more feedback on that as they get in more peoples hands.

Someone on the IRC chatgroup said that Volcano terminated his warranty because their terms of service requires that you only use their atomizers, cartomizers, juice, etc.

That sounded odd to me, so I checked their website.

Terms & Conditions

This warranty does not cover atomizers or cartomizers due to the heavy use toll and expected life of the part (3 months) and is subject to the Terms and Conditions of purchase. The warranty will be considered void if the product has been tampered with in any way, has been used with parts other than those sold and supplied by Volcano, is damaged through improper use, normal wear and tear, acts of GOD, negligence or abuse.

I suspect that if they are that hardcore about "Use our stuff or no warranty", that you have to get the batteries from them just like the rest.
