The Lava Tube Mod from Volcano Ecigs seems to be a great MOR Mod. I've seen reports of '12 hours' on the 18650 AW IMR1600 (Red) that Volaco would like to see used with it. I'd like a mod that would get a full 16 hours, if not a bit more. The higher capacity ones from AW are longer than the IMR1600, thought I've seen indication that button tops may work.

There are other manufautuer's 18650 flat top batteries that are the same 65mm height as the AW. These include...

Panasonic NCR2900 (Gray)
Samsung ICR3000 (Purple)
Samsung ICR3000 (Purple) (4.35V)

There may be other similar batteries.

I wonder if any who might have some 18650 flat-tops lying around have tried them in the Lava Tube.

While I understand the AW IMR's are 'high drain,' I don't know how much of a necessity this might be. Comments, including precautions or benefits on use of higher capacity, flat topped or button top batteries in the Lava Tube are welcome.

Feel free to list batteries, flat top or other that have worked successfully for you in the Lava Tube.

I have had my LT for almost a week now and am loving it... I have been getting around 16 hrs may be a bit more on the AW IMRS vaping around 5mls a day at around 5v on 3ohm atties or carto tank...

I tried some Electronicstix orange IMR 18650s and they fit the LT and work in it as well... They meter the same as the AWs... Well one works just rechecked I think my other one might be damaged from a juice misshap.... I have not as of yet vaped the one that works for any length of time to get its duration of use...

Several different 18650 batteries will probably work in it as far as size, maybe not some or all of the protected because the protection circuit adds a little length.

You really want to stick with a high drain battery though as this mod only uses one battery with a booster circuit and IMR(high drain) has a much higher current capability than protected. You'll be more limited in the usable voltage range and what ohms you can use if you're not using a high drain battery.
