So up to now, I have been using just a single eGo battery with the CE4 Atomizers... I like the fact that I dont have to muck around with the battery. I also like that I dont have to muck around with the atomizer and if it burns out, I can just replace it for $3. But, I also know that these are cheap, low end options and I want to step up a bit.

I dont think I am ready to go to the full on rebuilds with a giant mod and spend a few hundred bucks... So what is the next step up? I was thinking about this kit:

$19.81 EGO-EVOD 6-in-1 Rechargeable 900mAh Electronic Cigarettes Set - double e-cigarette / red + blue / 2.6

But that does not seem to be much of a step up. The good side is that it is cheap and that is a big factor for me right now.

So, what is my next step? I am thinking that the EVODs are nice... The Protanks look nice too...

If you are looking to upgrade to a better eGo style system, I'd opt for a VV twist-type battery. I'm not sure if those are genuine Evod tanks either from your fasttech link. The batteries are NOT Kanger Evod batteries either so when you get knockoffs, they tend to fail a bit quicker. I'd go for a VV battery with some Evod tanks or you can try out the Protanks too. If you are looking for a cheaper, warmer vape, the iClear 16s are pretty delicious. My first eGo system was a Smoktech Winder and some iClear 16s. I hope this was helpful!

Twist Style VV Batteries You would be happy with any of these batteries for sure. The ability to dial in your vape is really awesome. They are all around $23 and if you pair them with a few tanks, Innokin iClear Dual Coil Clearomizers you'll be good to go. If you already have a charger, then you don't really need to get another one with a kit. Just my 2 cents. :)

I'm still using 2 ego 900 batteries, but I picked up a Protank 2 and love it! I'm with you on the simplicity... I am planning on picking up a VV battery soon to be able to adjust my vape, but other than that I fill my PT 2 (enough to get me through a workday) and have my spare battery with me if I need it and it's all I need for now. I'm sure I'll end up getting into the high end stuff as money allows, but I've been happy so far!

Variable Voltage (vv) eGo type battery (Spinner, Winder, Twist) at 1000 or 1300 mAh with a decent top. Personally, if you want to go with something cutting edge that will deliver great taste (I've read, on another thread, have 2 on order now) go with these for tops:

I like my smaller Evod's to take to work too
my bigger mod I generally use more at home (even tho I do have it in my backpack)
I've also considered purchasing those really tiny 350mAh batteries just for fun...and saw a Kanger Baby T3 (out of stock, tho) on another website.
It would make the perfect stealth-vape duo.

For 23-25 bucks, i'd honestly spend that extra 5 bucks and get yourself a VV mod from fasttech.com or something.

$31.19 Vamo V2 Variable Voltage Mod / E-Cigarette Battery Compartment - stainless steel / with extension part at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping
$37.21 INNOKIN iTaste SVD Telescoping Variable Voltage E-Cigarette Mod / Battery Compartment at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

Here are two of them i suggest. Common variable voltage mods. Its better to invest into a more powerful batter than the ego-twist. Its really like 5-10 bucks more, and you could stick any carto or atomizer on there with no restrictions of course unless you are using a rebuilt one.

you can just do baby steps in upgrading. Get a kanger pro tank 2 mini - $15.00, replacement coils $6.00 for 5. It's bottom coil, can be used on your existing batteries and removable drip tip. Then when you want to upgrade to VV/VW you can either get an itaste VV3-$50 or itaste MVP2-$50

Those are rough estimates for prices but you can shop around.

I'm only a newbie, but if I was buying my kit again from scratch I'd start with an iclear vv v3 battery from fasttech for around $25 $24.80 iTaste VV V3.0 Variable Voltage / Wattage 800mAh Rechargeable Battery - w/ USB charging cable at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

I'd also try a few different clearos as well, evod, iclear etc as they work differently. So far I've fond I like the bottom coil clearo's for some juices and the dual coil ones for others. It's all a matter of personal taste and the only way to find out which you prefer is to try them.

Something else you could consider would be switching from clearomizers to a carto/tank setup... It's a little different vape experience. I like cartos personally, although a lot of folks would probably disagree. There is a somewhat diminished flavor compared to a good clearomizer, but they tend to use a little less fluid, and they don't have positional dependence like you find with a lot of clearo setups. I also find they aren't nearly as prone to the occasional leak.

As some have mentioned, a VV device like a twist is a good stepping stone to get you into the VV world and let you see what it's like to get something other than 3.7V. IMO though, the battery will not have as profound an impact as what you put on top. There are a lot better options out there than those CE4's for sure...

I was going to suggest wither the iTaste VV 3 or the iTaste MVP. The MVP has a longer battery life that the VV and they are both relatively the same in price (from Fasttech).

But what you ordered should do you alright until you get a case of 'shinyitis'. Otherwise known as the-itch-for-newer-and-better-vape-gear. :vapor:

I play with AGA T, some cheap RDA's, cartomizers, bridgeless atomizers, HH.357(awesome, btw), and I STILL enjoy the heck out of my second iClear 16. First one leaked and vaporalley.com stuck a free replacement in my next order. The second one just works. I've had a spare in my vape drawer for a month or more and it is still new in the wrapper. Take it apart and wash it. Torch the wick dry then dry burn the crud off and back to vaping.

Mekender,

I thank you! I was in the exact same position, I wanted to upgrade but didn't need an e-cig that was more aerodynamic than a Cessna plane. I am following your lead and ordering a spinner. I am so pleased that I am keeping it simple. When one endeavors to learn all the jargon, components, styles...it is like learning a new trade and I don't have the patience or inclination for that much work.

Good luck!

Isn't that likely a knock-off? I mean a knock off can be ok, from what some folks say. But -please correct me if I'm wrong- on fastteck, unless it says "authentic" before the brand name, it's prob a knock-off???
