Thats too bad for you, but where is your contribution to the thread?
You dont like cartos because they are a pain the behind but you do like.......
Your turn to fill in the blanks.

There is no reason to not use carto tanks, barring personal preference. I used them on my Ego Twists. A little to learn, but after that it is really easy. Here is some info if you are interested.

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...-5-baditudes-cartomizer-tank-setup-guide.html

ETA: The OP is looking for better flavor. They are not likely to find that in a different clearo, but will find that by trying something else, such as a carto tank.

Agree with both ^^^^^^^ Cartos are easy to use and fill. There's no wicks to fiddle with and once primed, tank is filled..it 's then vape and forget about it. Can't get much easier than that.

But there are some that like flavor from them and some who don't. Just like any other topper. Some peeps like ProTanks some don't. I fall in the don't like of ProTanks. But at least the OP knows there are options beyond clearos

Unless you want to change flavors. Then it isn't so easy, or cheap.

There is a downside to everything.

The best flavor comes from dripping, but it's also the most hassle to use and maintain.
The next best flavor comes from carts and cartotanks, but they're the most expensive and are more difficult than clearos to clean and maintain.
Clearos/tanks have the least flavor, but they are the easiest and cheapest to maintain.

There are ways to make tanks come close to carts in flavor, but it typically involves vaping at lower temperatures, which is the opposite of what most clearo users do. The reason tanks don't taste quite as good is because the conversion of liquid to vapor takes place at a very small point along the wick and it's heated very fast. The user is essentially burning the flavor off rather than having it incorporated into the vapor. If you increase the size of the wick and the thickness of the coil you can convert more liquid to vapor at a lower temperature, which improves the flavor.

Remember that no matter what you use the conversion from liquid to vapor follows the same principle. A heating element heats the liquid converting it to vapor. The shape, style, materials used (provided they don't leach into the liquid, don't use lead), none of that really affects the flavor. The flavor is dependent entirely on the balance between the temperature the liquid is being converted to vapor and the volume of liquid that can be converted at once.

That's why dripping and carts have the flavor advantage. Their heating elements are entirely saturated in liquid so more of the liquid is converted to vapor at once. Wicked tanks only have a tiny point where the heating element touches the wick, so it's generally much hotter at that one point. However, if you were to build your own coil wrapping a fat wick to increase the surface area being heated and the volume of liquid available at once, you could get very close to a cart or carto in flavor.

Or, in otherwords, build an RBA like a Kayfun.

Actually, changing out carto tanks/flavors, is cheap and easy. Take needle nosed bottle, squeeze out juice, put juice into another bottle if it's worth saving, take used carto out & put in a plastic Baggie and label with what juice was used for future use, clean tank, prime a new carto (runs about $1.85), put in tank, fill with new juice. It takes close to 7 mins total.

So not sure why OP needs to worry about heating elements, ports or all the other info you provided. I personally use RBAs and Carto Tanks, (dripping to me is a PITA and use it to test flavors only)

I prefer RBA but the OP seems newer, didn't ask about building but just about flavor. You have agreed that clearos have the least flavor and I agreed with the suggestion already made about carto tanks would be a wise next step. Or again, if the OP is not building their own coils yet, my suggestion for best topper for flavor is the Sophia and prebuilt coils can be purchased until comfortable with building.

I'm confused as to why this suggestion of cartos tanks over clearos doesn't seem logical?

To make a good recommendation, it really comes down to what you like about your current set up, and in which direction you want to go in. From disposable clearo, I tried a couple kanger bottom feeders (MT3 and protank II)... Which I ended up hating. The vape was too cold and the flavor too weak. Then I went to the vivi nova and that was a warmer vape (top feeder), which I could make even warmer by adjusting voltage (and a lot more flavor). Now, I use iclear 30's and mini dct cartos (former at home, latter at work). That was tanks, now for batteries... I have the passthrough 650mah batteries that I use on the cartos, due to small size/ease of charging. For home, I have a couple iclear30 tanks that I use on my vamo v3. I love that set up for now, but am prob going to get a ud agr+ tank in the near future for home. For out and about, I use the vivis on 1100mah spinners. They're convenient and nowhere near as bulky/heavy as my at home setup. I also use those for flavor experimenting, as the atomizers are cheaper for them than the iclears and cartos aren't as easy to transition flavors. It really comes down to how much you want to spend, which things you need and what doesn't matter to you. The above is all my ever so humble and subjective opinion, YMMV.

Dripping for the win. Clearomizer for convenience. Nothing beats the taste of a good built dripper with a cotton wick.

Agreed. I just picked up an Igo L and a Igo W about a week ago. These are the first RDA's I've ever tried. I don't have equipment for sub ohm and build my coils to 1.4 to 1.8 and absolutely love the flavor I get from them. So I would agree that dripping is definitely amazing when it comes to flavor. On the other hand I still find myself using my EVOD Clearo's with self built micro coils more often than not just because of the ease of use. I don't have any experience with carts so I can't give any opinion there. The route I took was the same as someone in an earlier post mentioned. I went from pre made coils to building my own micro coils (big difference in flavor) and once I was comfortable building the coils I went for the RDA. I'm glad I went that route. Also an upgrade to a VW device is real nice because once you find that perfect temp it's nice to be able to change bum coil and get similar if not the same vape from a coil that might have a different resistance. There are just so many directions you can go.

That sounds SO much easier than "rinse it off with warm water", which is all you have to do with a clearo.

NOT.

Gee, I don't know. Perhaps he would like to be able to make an informed decision on his own rather than having one person tell them what to do with total disregard as to the OP's wants and desires perhaps....

Just a thought.

Or do you honestly think everyone wants to deal with RBAs, and squeezing stuff with pliers back into bottles they had to save, and bagging stuff, and all of that?

It may come as a shock to you, but most people really want this whole vaping experience to be as easy as possible. You may love what you do, but it's no where even remotely close to as easy as rinsing out a clearo and refilling with a new liquid.

Think of it this way. You have a car, right? You can improve both your horsepower and your fuel mileage by custom tuning your car. So why haven't you done it? Too much/too difficult for too little payoff, right?

Same thing with vaping. Most everyone wants better, but most find the amount of work to be too much or too difficult for the minor improvement they're going to get out of it.

Again, it's a matter of cost and ease of use vs. the expected results.

Carto's don't taste MASSIVELY better, the improvement is minor compared to a good tank. Not a $4 tank, a really good one. In fact I doubt most people could tell the difference between a cartotank and a high quality dual bottom coil tank. At least not up until they went to change the flavor and had to spend 3-5 times the amount of time and effort to do that with a cartotank.

I don't understand why you don't understand how important it is for the OP to understand the options, and the pros and cons of those options before spending his money. Do you often buy things without understanding what is good and bad about them and how they compare to your other options?

You are confusing to me. Your original post says "In other words build an RBA like a Kayfun". I agreed RBAs give the best flavor, IMO, but suggested a Sophia with prebuilt coils cuz maybe the OP, sounding newer, wouldn't want to build. Then you come back and say (see first line here of quote?!?!?!) HUH? I was AGREEING with you on the RBA.

If you meant carto tanks, squeezing juice out of the tank takes a half a second. Lmao. It's not has hard as building a Kayfun! Seriously, it is so easy to set up and use that if I can do it, a four year old can do it.

And yes, I tried ProTanks (too airy, had to fiddle with them too much, mediocre flavor and way more hassle for me than a carto tank) Vivi Novas, Aurora tank, IClear 30's and a ton more before I got fed up with clearos and went to carto tanks. Again, I was agreeing with a suggestion already posted because I had already been there and done that and wasted a lot of money on set ups I didn't care for.

I tried to use the KISS method of my response for the OP on what provides more flavor. I guess if you feel a "good tank" is going to give good flavor (compared to what you originally said "clearos give the least flavor, yet..now you suggest them again..HUH?) then suggest a good tank to the OP. I think the OP is looking for actual names of set ups so suggest one.

I would but I haven't found one but again, I gave up on them. Maybe the Aspire Nautilis? Don't know haven't used it and can't suggest it. I just agreed to what was already suggested, that I have used and worked for me.

Isn't that what the majority of what this forum is about. Helping others, with your own opinion, of what worked for you?

Is there a bottom feeder that is much better than the Kanger atomizers? The Kangers have been profoundly weak to me, and I am curious to see if there is a bottom feeder that has more flavor... I like the ease of the bottom feeder, but the coolness of the vapor, combined with the weakness of flavor in the Kangers have been what made me say meh to them.

I'm the OP and I am definitely going to let you all know what I end up with. I did get a lot of options out of all your opinions. End of the day...build my own coils + go back to the B&M where I got my first step up. The owner is there all the time and he was great at explaining things, had tons of options including lots mentioned here and good prices. I have also realized that I like heavy, strong flavors so I am getting better at picking juices. Thanks all!

My coil turned bright red while vaping, then my battery started flashing. It won't turn off or charge it flashes when I put evod back on it or try to charge it... Is it broke? I'm using a evod starter kit

sounds like you shorted out the battery. i know my ego-t 950 milliamp batteries auto shut off after 15 seconds as does my ego twist. my vamo v3 shuts down after 10 seconds. i would suggest changing the wick on the evod and trying again. if you have a spare battery try the new wick on it. i regularly crank the volts on my vamo up with just the base and wick on it to clean the juice build up off my coil and havent had any issues.

i started with an ego 950mah battery and ce5 tank, got to where i had 4 batteries and about 10 tanks for all my different flavors. went to the evod tanks and an ego-c twist battery for better flavor. upgraded tanks to the protank 2 with 2.5 ohm coils. now i use a vamo v3 with protank 3. all said and done i have about 300 bucks into hardware alone. i love my vamo v3 and protank 3's i have 2 of each so i dont have to clean my tank when i switch flavors. and i am down to 3 flavors. its really all about finding what is right for you. i just wish i could find a black cavendish juice locally since ordering online makes me nervous about what i am getting juice wise. next step for me is gonna be building my own coils since i cant find anything over 2.0 ohm for my PT3.

its not where you go its where it will end..it never does.
im constantly trying to find vape nirvana..im getting there..well im getting closer
for me the transition to vaping so quick 2 days and i quit smoking. i got a vv mod in the first 3 weeks after a ego kit wasent cutting it
for me my purchase of a provari was bliss but not everyone can afford them nor do you really need one but i needed a bullet proof mod
and most are not..but they do work..lol not as well IMO.
my newest leg of my journey it to a RTA the russian 91
congrats on quitting the cigs...happy vapin days:vapor:

I started with a cheaper vv and quit cigs within 1 day. I went a week with that and ordered a provari because of the durability. I have a nautilus aspire tank which I love, never floods and holds 5ml of juice. I recently bought a kayfun to start building coils myself but wanted to stay safe. The provari only lets you fire 1.2ohm or higher. Still very new to this but I am done with the cigs and never going back. I tried everything to quit over my 25 yrs (pad) and vaping is the only thing that works for me. I know the provari is expensive but I don't know many who have bought one and did not like it. So many products/choices to choose from had my head spinning. Good luck you will find what works for you!
