I still eat both butter and margarine. Mostly butter but there are things it's easier to use the other.

I keep a stick of butter out of the fridge for easy spreading. I was raised on margarine. Once I discovered butter, there really wasn't any going back. It's really NOT NICE to fool Mother Nature.

I don't know Lis, but some j0kers have left and some have gone elsewhere. I know, I'm guilty of that too.

I hope you are wrong. I would post more often, but my days and nights are pretty busy now.

We lost some very key players here. I still love the ones that toddle in from time to time, but it's not the same as it once was. It's normally pretty hard to keep any kind of a conversation going in here now. But, I keep coming back, when I can.

Let's see…

Kent, that article is about fake studies on the social/psychological impact of being a red meat eater. If, however, you are talking about arteries and cholesterol, saturated fat is not as good for you as unsaturated and, when it comes to animal protein, fish is better than poultry which is better than red meat. And I had a hamburger today and I don't feel guilty.

We eat excessive amounts of salt in this country. For people with certain types of heart problems, that's serious. But I don't like salt and I wish I could get most of it out of the food I buy.

I don't know when margarine was invented but I do remember that it became popular/common during WWII when things like butter and cream were rationed. I also once read that it used to come in a plastic bag and was a soft, white fat that looked like lard. You also received a packet of food coloring that you added to the bag and mushed in to make it look like butter.

All together -- ewwwwww.

that's one more reason , it is like we are getting bored of our daily same old Jokes :D

There was a fresh excitement and thrill to it. It was "edgy" and "naughty". Now all of that is rather old hat and has faded away, so yes, Jan is right. It's a touch base thread now, instead of home base for most. Perhaps it is cause we have been here around two years. The thrill of the threads has worn off, and given way to the fall lineup.

Goodnight Jan. Sleep well dear. :)
