..... Gee, I go mow the back 40 and now there are two pages of posts in here. I need to mow more often.

Afternoon Jan, Z, Jerry, JaG and Kent. :)

Jan@ I think I will start mowing at the crack of dawn myself. Not so much for the heat, but so my neighbors can truly appreciate the sound of their own dog barking non-stop and bouncing up against the fence. What a treat... and one worth sharing.

DH has to wait until about ten because we got a neighbor who works the late shift and he is sleeping until then.

Do you have a dog I can taunt entertain?

No. I gave up on pets 10 years ago. Done all that, dog, 3 fish tanks and tropical plants that filled the house. Now, I only have weeds, blackberries and poison oak for pets...

Wait, is that your riding mower you're going down the highway on?

You two are good, considerate neighbors Jan.

The neighbors to my East are very inconsiderate. They have about 6 dogs at last count and they never walk them. Only the yappadoodle was outside today. They often put them in the kennel that is adjacent to my East wall. That wall is brick up about 4 feet and another 3 feet of chain link above that. We have a school, with adjacent park behind us. So, I have a lot of dog noise, at all hours. Because we have evaporative cooling here in the desert, some windows must remain ajar. Thus, there is no escaping the noise.

 No, a riding mower would probably be much faster. Plus I could have gotten the PTO option on a mower.

We have three cats at the moment. Indoor cats. We had a dog, a Corgi, but Easter before last, I took her back to the breeder. She was a good dog, just real skittish around kids, and NEVER barked... Ok, I had her for almost two years and heard her bark 3 times. The only way to fix her skittishness would have been to get another dog, or walk her two hours a day, every day, and have the kids do some of that walking. That wasn't going to happen. I did what was best for the dog. We were her second owner and the first one really screwed her up.

That sucks, Ralph! :glare:

Some cities have an ordinance on how many dogs are allowed in a private home, not that you want to start trouble. It could get worse if you did. Damn, money can't buy good neighbors.

Well we do have one neighbor that had (now down to one) two dogs. Their backyard and our backyard connect. They NEVER cleaned up the dog poop!! We do it two or three times a week. This went on for about five years and we got the pool back there!! Talk about stink. Now that they have a kid, they get upset if my dog goes in our yard but near their yard!

No, but money can buy you distance from the neighbors. Bigger plot, quieter environment, bigger lawn to mow.... wait..... what? ..... That's no good.

No doubt.

How have you been Jerry? I don't see you very often any more. :(

I couldn't afford acreage in CA, so I came to OR, where it's still reasonable. I've got 5 acres of and vertical SEPARATION from neighbors being on a hill. But the wild hillside is killing me!!!

Z's taking a shower??? :sneaky:
