Sorry Princess. I wanted to get kubuntu installed on the laptop on J0ker's recommendation. I am using a free product called VMWare server, which runs on the laptop, to allow me to run the kubuntu install in a virtual machine at the same time as windows runs. So, I am a bit distracted... but following along. Its good to see some old friends join us tonight. Hi CES! Hi Zelda. Hi Jerry and Lis, and anyone else I have missed.

Sure uh huh....I understood all of that ...LOL

Years ago I got a bad shock from a lamp that practically knocked me clear across a room. Not easy to forget. Luckily I was in my 20's and at the time it didn't really faze or injure me.

Course if I hadn't left the windows wide open all day during a violent storm it wouldn't have happened.

My dad had my hold a spark plug wire when I was 10.....never did it again

I have "juiced" myself several times in the house and yes Fudgey, I juiced myself with a lawnmower one time. That was worse than the 110 volt house current. I felt the shock go up my leg, through my chest and into my left arm.

OUCH!!!!!

is that why your ghost keeps bouncing Jerry? ( i like it)

Sorry dear. Kubuntu is an operating system (like Windows, only free). It is a variant of Linux. VMWare Server is virtualization software which allows you to run more than one operating system on the same hardware at the same time. Thus I can have Kubuntu running concurrently with Windows. Kubuntu comes with OpenOffice, which I would like to try again and I am curious about how both Kubuntu and Openoffice have matured.

Thanks Alex.

What I found out, Norie, is that the forum will only allow simple animation, one movement only. Just copy the direct link line, into your "edit avatar" box, the one above the one you use for pics on your computer. Not all of them will work, that's why I had to try them on.

Why do you have to have Kubuntu to run OpenOffice???

Thanks Chris. I change the light switches, outlet boxes, etc, in the house, myself. In my younger days, I decided to cut corners and not turn off the power. Sometimes I was successful and sometimes I got juiced. lol. I learned the hard way, to turn off the power EVERY time. lol.

yeah....that would be one way to learn to turn the power off...I can do small stuff, but not a lot.

Did Zelda get bumped?
