For things like the electronics, I think you have to have nerves of steel and be willing to invest a certain amount in order to win. What actually looks good is the Staples Gift Cards. I just watched a $50 one go for $0.54. Transaction fee is $2. If the person bid 10 times (and there were only 54 bids altogether), that's $8.54. Staples frequently has 10%-15% coupons if you look at their weekly flyer online. There are things I'd be very happy to buy at Staples for 20¢ on the dollar.

If you have a good sense of what they're going for and set an absolute limit for the # of bids you'll place, that could be worth it.

I'm a little miffed at the brides and bros right now....it's not cause I didn't like the movie,i ahven't seen it yet. In attempting to find an online version i downloaded malware that was pretending to be a video codec and spent the day cleaning my laptop and restoring file associations. grrrrrrrr. I think i have it clean now...but will be scanning obsessively and keeping a pretty close eye on things for the next few days.

(I'll be getting the movie dvd from netflix later. sigh)
