Re tight jeans, that was my first question to Ralph when he said his daughter had a UTI. I like elastic waistbands and shirts that hang over them.

Spent the last 2 hours cage shopping. The status on the ones I bought at Petco.com had been "in progress" for 2 weeks. Called yesterday. They said they'd send me an update in 24-48 hours. At 9pm I got an e-mailed update. The cages were now "in progress." Some update.

So I called. Translation: In this case "in progress" means the cages are out of stock at the manufacturers so petco.com canceled my order this afternoon.

I can totally relate to that Jane. I had a recent experience with Dell very similar to that. Customers server went down. 3.5 year old server, both power supplies failed. Called Dell. Ordered, overnight shipping. Next day, no power supply, email status: In Production??? WTH? Called and had them expedite the "refurbishment" of item. Promised it would ship the next day. Next day email status: Order Cancelled. My customer completely down, workers sitting on thumbs. Found another vendor, paid $500 for one new power supply. Arrived next day. Server back up! Yay! Reinitiated with Dell, as the refurbed ones are $178 and the second one is needed for redundancy. Stayed on them, about a week later after a second cancellation and a do over, we got the refurb in from Dell. It was defective.

Moral of the story is always get the "Gold Support Warranty" from Dell. They hold new parts in reserve for servers under warranty. I would have had better luck getting a power supply from Petco than from Dell at this point.

Why am I still awake. :(

Night again all. :)

I bought 2 computers from Dell. With the second one, I hadn't quite decided on my configuration but there was a special and no way to select it. Called to ask how I would do it. George had me give him my order and I could change it (I'd know for sure what I wanted in 2 days.) Called back in 2 days -- it had shipped. (That's when I realized that they're on commission or something.) Had to refuse delivery and reordered with George's supervisor. Explained that I couldn't pay for 2 computers at once so he had me pay through their financial company. Got billed. Explained. Then they charged me interest. Got refund for first computer. Paid for second and refused to pay interest. But the refund was about $50 short. They hadn't refunded the fee for having someone set it up. Was told I was over the limit for the amount I could get for a refund (WTF?) but they'd send me a Kodak digital camera. Didn't have one so I said okay. It didn't come. Called. It had been canceled for some unknown reason. Put it back in the system. Didn't come. Third time a charm. Except it wasn't Kodak, it was a grade Z digital camera that didn't even have a viewing screen that was worth about $2.98.

Moral of the story is forget about "Gold Support Warranty." Never buy so much as a paper clip from Dell. One of the requirements for being hired there is that you must be a pathological liar.

ETA: The computer was fine. But when it died, I bought a Mac.
