I put 20 in to start. Boil, boil, boil. Took them out with a slotted spoon and poured the water into a metal bowl. It was the color of very dark tea. Ewwww.

Some of them still look dark so they're all back in for a second bath. I kept all the painted ones out this time. I'll have to round up all my other icky ones and do another round.

I understand that people do boil atomizers, Jane. I don't, I just soak them in water for a while and then let them air dry for a few days.

I've always had good results with Galen's 151 proof vodka (everclear isn't available for consumers here) - cheap stuff unflavored, no color, charcoal filtered - @$12 for a fifth.... it melts stuff off the coil and dries quickly. And is for human consumption, unlike other ploys I've seen  Someone used oven cleaner??? I tried the crest mouthwash- no alcohol and followed with the vodka and still got the yellowing - so, imo, vodka still rules... but some don't like the alcohol component for other than cleaning reasons....
