The Charlie Schulz Philosophy
(This is marvelous!!Scroll thru slowly and read carefully to receive and enjoy full effect)

The following is the philosophy of Charles Schulz, the creator of the 'Peanuts' comic strip.

You don't have to actually answer the questions. Just ponder on them.

Just read straight through, and you'll get the point.

1. Name the five wealthiest people in the world.

2. Name the last five Heisman trophy winners.

3. Name the last five winners of the Miss America pageant.

4 Name ten people who have won the Nobel or Pulitzer Prize.

5. Name the last half dozen Academy Award winners for best actor and actress.

6. Name the last decade's worth of World Series winners.

How did you do?

The point is, none of us remember the headliners of yesterday.

These are no second-rate achievers.

They are the best in their fields.

But the applause dies..

Awards tarnish..

Achievements are forgotten.

Accolades and certificates are buried with their owners.

Here's another quiz. See how you do on this one:

1. List a few teachers who aided your journey through school.

2. Name three friends who have helped you through a difficult time.

3. Name five people who have taught you something worthwhile.

4. Think of a few people who have made you feel appreciated and special.

5. Think of five people you enjoy spending time with.

Easier?

The lesson:

The people who make a difference in your life are not the ones with the
most credentials, the most money...or the most awards.

They simply are the ones who care the most.

Pass this on to those people who have either made a difference in your life,
or whom you keep close in your heart, like I did.

BTW he did it already in case you haven't noticed. I rarely log out - and I bet a lot of you don't either :)

Thanks oldsoldier!

Are you saying that the entire lounge is now "Members Only"?

ETA: I see that it is. This is very good news. :) Thank you oldsoldier, and AngusATAT also!!!

Errr......he did what exactly??

Norie, the J0kers thread was moved from Outside, to the Lounge. The Lounge was open to the planet for reading (no membership required), which presented a bit of a problem for big mouthed folks like me who have spoken candidly about vacations, friends, family and work. Now the Lounge requires ECF membership to read, including this thread. So we have a much, much smaller potential audience, and our every word is not indexed by the likes of Google and viewable by anyone with a browser.

This will have the side effect of tightening up e-cig related search results a bit as the Lounge chit-chat will not pollute and skew the search engines. :)

It really spooked me after it sunk in how exposed our every word was Norie. Bottom line is that we shouldn't say anything here, or on facebook that we don't want the whole world to see, as Jane mentioned. That is just good policy. But is it just a bit more comforting that the whole world cant see it now (and perhaps misinterpret or leverage it against us). How many times has one of us mentioned we were going out of town, or leaving work early?  Many times, because we are a tight, close knit group of best friends.
