I like Excel and it's hard to teach someone the basics without being able to use the short cuts. I did find her an online tutorial.....yay!!!!

I learned a little Lotus at my first job in publishing. I got to my next job and I needed to do a multiplication. I couldn't remember the character. I read my way through the manual. It wasn't in the index under "multiply," "times," "math" or anything I could think of. I didn't know the folks in IT or accounting yet and I was the only one in my area with a PC (it was 1990 -- by the time I left the five assistants had them.) I finally called the IT person at my previous job who laughed and said "you didn't know to look under 'operands'?"

Unfortunately MS Office for Mac is buggy as "heck" which makes using them a bit frustrating.

I love Excel. If I had to choose between having a spreadsheet program and a word processing program on my computer, wp would be gone. I can do macros (or I could -- haven't done any for a while, might have forgotten how) but I can't do stuff like pivot tables.

I also enjoy teaching it to people but I wouldn't want to try to teach it all to them in one afternoon.

Favorite formula name is "concatenate" WTF? Was their goal to ensure that the fewest number of people possible knew how to merge two cells?

 I love that one......but I am with you....what's up with that name?????

i can't do macros, but i can do half-arsed pivot tables and formulas. I have to admit i like formulas in excel, cause i can set up the math once, and repeat as needed :D (I use a different program for charts)

Hi Wiz...

Good morning y'all :)

I love the look up formulas.....I use that one everyday. I have a report I export and save that to use in all of my spread sheets that I use to import data into the payroll program. Makes life so much easier!

Daughter did good on her test and the interview, but they are doing more interviews next week so she has to wait. And a large oil company here just moved all of their offices to OKC so there are a lot of ladies looking for jobs :(

Are they filling just one position or many. Wish her luck!!!
