Please help ASAP-I bought myself, my mom, and my dad joye 510 sets from eastmall and my dad (who smokes lites) choked when he tried it. I realllly want this to work out, so which adapter can I buy from altsmoke to give the weakest hit? I really went all out with the joye equipment-passthrus, PCCs, ect. so I can't afford a whole new set of batteries, ect. The 901 looks like it might work but I wasn't sure...

What an outstanding gesture on your part!
I do not believe it is the hardware persay, I would recommend using a lower nic juice say 6mg. Since the nic is typically what causes the throat hit/choking, you might have gotten a higher nic concentration than what is labeled on the cart/bottle. You could also try cutting the juice 50/50 with Glycerin thus reducing the nic content. Glycerin can be had at any CVS pharmacy. 10 drops of ejuice and 10 drops of glycerin mixed together and refil the cart, then have him try it. Alternatly you can make the hole on the atty a little larger which will allow more air in reducing the amount of vapor that is inhaled, but I would try a reduced amount of nicotine juice first. Lastly he might actually be allergic to PG which is causing him to choke, if the 50/50 mix reduces the amount of choking or there isnt any, then try a PG ejuice at the cut amount. If he chokes with this, then I would try a VG based ejuice at 12mg and see if he still chokes, if he does not then it might be the PG.
I hope this gives you some direction to try and I hope it works out.

I agree with Dan on the nicotine level and possible reaction to PG, but it is not uncommon for people to cough at first. Wife had the problem and she solved it by using the 'draw like you're drinking a thick shake through a straw' method - and also filling your mouth first, then opening your mouth to inhale, thereby diluting the inhale with some outside air.

But, you're right on the choice for less hit with the 510 to 901 adapter if it comes to that. Something that because of the availability of cartomizers, isn't a bad thing to have around anyway - the 510 to 901 is also a 510 to carto adapter.

Scubabatdan and Kent have provided the answers that are most likely to resolve your problem.

Expanding on Kent's draw technique suggestion, check our my reply today to thoqub’s “OK what's wrong!!!?” question here in ATE, in which I included a couple demo videos.

And, if you purchase that 510 to 901/Kr8 adapter, try using it with GreenCig cartomizers (from NHaler or LeCig). They produce more vapor and much less throat hit than Kr8 carts. And I happen to love their mellow flavor (not everyone does).
