The Orbtronic SX30 -

Ultra High Drain 30 Amp 18650 Orbtronic SX30 Rechargeable Hybrid Li ion Battery | eBay

Or the MNKE IMR -

2X Mnke IMR 18650 30A 60A Batteries for Mechanical Mods Free Same Day Shipping | eBay

Now the scenario here is for sub-ohm builds. .2, .3, etc...

To me, it appears the the safer choice would be the SX30(because of the Max rated 30A discharge). Also, with that battery you would get a longer 'run time' out of it over the 1500mAh MNKE's. Correct?

My own conclusion is that the SX30's are safer, and will allow you more 'vape time' with your mod. (even though the charge time will be greater)

Am I correct?

Tell me you're preference!

Thanks all!

I have the Sony VTC4's and like them a lot. The new Efest Purple 35 amp 2500 mah batteries look really sweet. I also have some Sony 26650 50 amp batteries for the Big Nasty which are huge. lol.

Any of the 30 amp variety would be a good choice, if you find the purples in stock I'd jump on them, they are selling faster than they can stock them.

How low do you plan to go on your sub ohm builds? The ebay supplier in the above link is a good source, that's where I bought my 26650's. Fast shipping. 101vape had the purples in stock last time I checked, just not when I placed my last order from them lol

Awesome! Well I have 2 of the Sony VTC4's now and I can tell a HUGE difference from my prior batteries. I really wanna go dangerously low in the safest way possible. I want ......edly huge clouds.

I'm going to look into these purples you speak of.

Thanks buddy!

Ok sweet, I didn't realize mAh directly correlated with amp continuous discharge rate.
More indirectly than directly. The amp continuous discharge rate is determined by the battery's C rating and battery capacity (mAh).

Higher mAh will mean longer time of use before requiring charging.

Higher C rating means more amps in reserve for high drain applications.

Before the hybrid batteries became available, we only had two options:

  • ICR batteries had a much higher battery capacity (mAh) allowing long battery use, but had minimal amp capacity.

  • IMR batteries had a much higher amp capacity, but had less battery capacity in mAh.

  • Hybrids are a mix of the two, combining the better attributes of both.

Anyone do a side by side comparison between the purples and the Sony 30 amps? Price looks the same - I'm curious about performance and how long before needing a recharge under comparable conditions, etc. Are the purples better?

Well from what I have read, it only makes sense the purples(400 more mAh) would last longer then the VTC4's however, my Sony VTC4's already last a full day with ease.

So my only real care behind ordering the purples is to sub-ohm HARD.

Get you a 26650 mod with some Sony's or MNKE's. They are 30 amp batts with 4000 mah. Will last a LOOOONG time, even sub ohm.

The BIG NASTY is going for around 139 bucks right now and the batts can be had for around 10 bucks.

IMHO

Well I literally JUST got the copper ember mod(yesterday) I think I'm completely content with that as well as the private mod clone, and the magneto lol can only use one at a time lol.

Why only one at a time? Unless you only have one hand, then some duct tape should help. ;)
