Hi, I'm new to this forum but not ecf. I've been smoke free for 6 months and love vaping. I have a friend who chews Skoal and sometimes Copehagen wintergreen and he's finally agreed to try snus. He did try the Marlboro and Camel versions but hated it. I was thinking he needs something strong. Long cut and loose is also going to be a must. Can anyone help? I'd certainly appreciate all comments and would like to thank you all in advance.:)

    Somewhere between here and there
Take a look at getsnus.com. Any of the swedish made snus is going to be more effective than the camel and marlboro. If you want the strongest then take a look at anything labeled as los(loose) and extra sterk(extra strong). I think the odens and thunder are the strongest ones in the extra strong.

Thunder is probably going to be the best bet. If your friend is still willing to try portion snus, I always enjoyed Lab Series 02 for a strong kick.

If he likes wintergreen,Offroad makes a wintergreen long cut, and a spearminint los. There is also Thunder frosted, and General wintergreen in portions. Snus is usually a bit of an adjustment from chew because it is placed differently in the mouth, and there is no need to spit. Here's a couple links to check out.

Hmm, I didn't know Jacobsen's made a strong wintergreen portion. I guess I never paid attention to it.

The Thunder and Jacobsen's are strong portion snus, which means they have a higher nic content that regular or white portions.

Your friend should give this a read as it is exactly what he needs to know

    Dipper's Guide to Snus

The above is from the snuson forum

Not much in the way of long cut, though I think V2 makes a long cut loose. I've never done american style smokeless but from my understanding the best way to approach it is to not try and replicate snuff and chew but recognize that snus is different and go from there. Snus has more subtle flavors as opposed to the in your face type approach of US smokeless. There is going to be a transition period.

The nicotine kick is definitely there. Lots of strong and extra strong loose snus available if needed.
