Ok. I have been vaping for almost 5 months now, which also means I've been not smoking cigs for almost 5 months, not even one drag! I have tried many, many e-liquids(over 70) and many DIY flavors and mixes(approx 15). Ironically, one of my favorites flavors, and the flavor that I use in my own e-liquid blend, was literally the first flavor I had bought when I ordered my first kit! So I spent all this time and money looking for a great everyday, on the go vape, and it was right there all along, its Totally Wicked's red label tobacco flavored e-liquid. I mix it with Halo Torque 56 at about a 2 parts TW to 1 part Torque 56. Then I usually add just a little menthol.

Anyway, I sold my 1st kit(Ego-T) to a friend for $25 after using it for a month, and began using a Lava Tube type device from TW. I started with the Smoktech carto, but wasnt too impressed. I switched to the Kanger T2, but it mutes flavor. I switched to the Vivi Nova mini and tried different resistance coils. Its a nice unit, but still, it doesnt give strong hits. When you start hitting it after more than an hour of not vaping, the kits seem to give fairly decent throat hit, but then yoy kinda get an immu8nity to it after a few hits, and its kinda weak again.

So, after going over to GotVapes site, I saw the new-ish "Split-Fire" clearo/tank and tried it. I was immediately impressed(at first). It gives larger hits than the Vivi Nova mini, mainly because it has 4 thick wicks. It also does not mute the flavor like the Kanger and others. Because the wicks are thicker, they wick more liquid faster up into the coil, which is also a bit wider than some other coils in other clearos. The only problem is that since its got 2 separate compartments, and the top compartment where the coil sits, is dry. That means the wicks have to draw the liquid all the way from the bottom compartment, through the metal separator into the dry compartment and up to the coil. That takes longer since it has to travel farther through dry air, so you cant take much more than 1-2-3 hits before the third or 4th hit is dry and burnt tasting. For me the 2nd or third hit is bunt tasting most of the time.

Its funny, when the guy at Gotvapes does the video, he is occasionally taking hits while talking, and he's coughing here and there, and although he claims the coughing was caused by some outside influence, I know darn well that hes getting dry, burnt cotton hits, which is probably why he's coughing. However, I found a stop-gap method of dealing with this issue. I simply add about 2mm of e-liquid into the top compartment, so that the liquid doesnt have to travel far to reach the coil, which makes a BIG difference in how many hits you can get without getting burnt hits. But it has other issues as well, like leaking. Also, the coils are fairly cheaply made, so that the wicks pull apart when you go to remove the plastic tips on the ends of them some times.

So I'd like to find another type of tank or clearo that gives strong hits without muting the flavor. Ive tried upping the nicotine and I'm at 18mg/ml now, and I dont want to go higher. I just need to find a good hitting system. Ive tried the voltage adjustments, and different resistance coils, and more PG to VG, etc. Besides, the mixture I use now is fine, I just need a better tank or clearo. I have not tried any of the DIY tanks, so I dont know if they give better hits or not, and I would certainly consider that a viable option if they would work better. I also own a 6ml Totally Wicked dual coil tank which I bought with my original kit, but it really badly mutes the flavor of the liquid. I dont know if thats common to all dual coil tanks or not, so maybe someone can speak to that?

Right now, I just got 3 more 1.8ohm coils for the Split fore and I'll use it til something better is recommended... Thanks a lot....

I've not been a fan of clearo tanks. The string wicks seem to have problems carrying the flavor to the atomizers with some flavors.

If you are not one of the few who can 'taste' the polyfill in cartos, I suggest cartotanks; they are my exclusive means to vape. I prefer glass tanks with single coil cartomizer with a resistance ohm best for the amount of voltage or wattage I will use. Vaping Power Chart 2.0 - Imgur

If you can get your hands on either the Ikenvape Platinum or 510 Fusions Punched! these are some pretty fine quality cartomizers that produce excellent flavor and seem to last longer in a tank than other brand cartos that I have tried.

My vote is for Gotvapes Flux Phoenix bottom coil clearomizer. Purest, nicest flavor I've ever gotten. Cons: It only holds 1 ml and it's a syringe fill. Pros: It's cheap, easy to clean, and leakproof (with the exception of cinnamon!). 510 threaded. If they ever come out with a 2 ml size, I'll be in vaping heaven! :vapor:

I would gladly go with whatever works well. I dont mind having to use a DIY type system. So it doesnt have to be a standar clearo type device, it can be rebuildable, as long as it gives good, strong hits without badly muting the flavor or leaking, or whatever. I bought the Totally Wicked 6ml tank with the dual coil cartos for it, and I bought 10 extra cartos(2 per pack) because I assumed it would work well, but although it does technically turn the liquid into vapor as its supposed to, it badly mutes the flavor! It would have been very nice if it wouldve worked because I have like 5 months worth of cartos for it! I bought it right from the beginning when I started vaping, because I didnt realize the inconsistency with some of these things.

But if I have to buy a system that requires installing the wick by hand, thats ok as long as it works. I just need to know which of these systems gives nice hits, with throat hit being the most important thing.

I'm only vaping 2 mg strength, so throat hit isn't too strong in my case, just smoooooth and tasty. But I can still feel it, it just doesn't blast a hole in the back of my neck. YMMV. And there are ZERO dry hits with these, which is what I love the best. Awesome from the first drop to the last. :)

Stinks about the wasted $$ on equipment you didn't like, but we've all been through that. It's maddening, for sure, but you're not alone!
