I've never tried an e cig before but I'd like to purchase one now.I've been looking at the joyetech 510 and the Halo element or G6 so far, both of them look pretty good.
The most important thing for me is that the smoke is thick and I get a good flavor.
Also, does the brand of e cigarette matter as far as available eliquid, or is it possible to mix and match with the flavors?

I'd really like some input as far as which models produce the best smoke, last the longest, and which flavors are the best.

Thanks!

You will get a zillion replies as everyone has their preferences. I have the Kgo and the Ego twists and like both. The twist is variable voltage -pair that with a vivi nova and depending on juice you will get plenty of power and vapor. Eliquids are all over the place you just have to try until you find one you like some are pretty bad. There is probably a vape shop somewhere near you, best to go in and try some.

For a beginner, I've heard a lot of people recommending the Volt. Sample Volt Standard Starter Kit:
Smokeless Image | The Best Electronic Cigarette

Not arguing with anyone here, but I personally consider the eGo Twist or KGO as a "2nd level". Of course, the eGo Twist or KGO will produce more vapor and TH since it has higher voltage compared to any mini e-cigs.

I hear what you're saying. I'm glad I got a regular eGo ("c" not 510) as my first kit, then moved up to a Twist. I think the vv would have made it even more confusing in the beginning and I wouldn't have had anything to compare it to. Just my two cents YMMV

Ok here's my sussestion. For starters, you'll need a battery (you might want to get two) and charger
Vision Spinner Variable Voltage 1300mAh eGo Battery

and a few good tanks to hold your liquid
1.6ml Long Wick CE4 Clearomizer for 510/eGo, flat tip, 2.1-2.4 ohm (not Vision)

Total cost around 44 bucks (70 with the spare battery)

oh and of course some e-liquid. There are many good vendors. here are a couple of suggestions.
Rawr Vapor: Home page
Alien Visions E-Juice
Halo Electronic Cigarette
E Cig Juice @ *_Highbrow Vapor_* - E Liquid Store, Shop our Store for Ecig Products.

and you should be good to go.

If you feel this is a bit to advanced, then I would recommend
KR808D1 E Cigarette

I have only used disposables and a brand of rechargable called a Lotus which I like. My wife ordered a kit from Vapor 4 Life and the flavors are kinda weird and often taste burnt....I am new to vaping but REALLY like it a lot. I just ordered a Provari yesterday and can't wait to get it and start vaping super huge clouds! There are SO many options out there to choose from and I would assume pretty much everything is available in L.A. I am so happy to have discovered vaping and am happy to no longer be smoking :) Best of luck to you!

First I'd like to welcome you to the forum.

There is one answer to your question though the answer may seem a bit coy. There is no "best" e-cigarette. The one that keeps you from smoking tobacco is the best one for YOU.

Many will have opinions based on THEIR needs and experience ,so those suggestions should be used as a means to begin your research.
The options available are mind numbing to be honest. I can only say that whatever you start with is unlikely to be your last purchase.

Answer these questions and finding a good starting point with replies tailored to your needs becomes exponentially easier.
1) How much and what type do you smoke ? (if you are a heavy smoker, cig-alikes may be disappointing due to constant recharging)
2) Must your ecig look like a real cig? (smaller battery equals shorter usage per charge)
3) While we all want to get the best for the least cash outlay, putting out another $20-$30 dollars for a better suited kit could make all the difference on your impression of whether vaping is a viable alternative to tobacco for you. So, what are you comfortable investing ,money wise, on your initial purchase.

Liquid wise, choices are astronomical in variety. This is really the search that can drive you nuts . There are available everything from generic to artisan e-juices .Though acceptable e liquid does not have to be expensive, the term expensive is relative to both the amount of disposable income you have and the amount of satisfaction derived from a particular "juice". I.E. Price doesn't guarantee satisfaction, some are $1+ per milliliter ,others I have found as low as $0.13 per milliliter.

The terminology is enough in itself to make the whole switch seem overwhelming. Then the choices .Differing opinions over what a newbie "should" get.

The point again is,to make a really good suggestion, some thought to the above questions should be considered and shared . Hopefully, with a good start with equipment recommendations tailored to your needs we can reduce some of the confusion that comes with being a new vaper and help in your quest to become a former smoker (if that is your goal).

Good luck to you.

The one that gets you into vaping. There are just so many different things tailored to particular individuals. I know it sounds crazy, but I've always adhered to the "get something and find out what you want to be different" mindset. I know that doesn't help much, but it's true. I started with a kit from 7 Eleven, and came here asking questions ... moved onward and upward until I found what really works for me. Now I'm content where I am, and am about 2 years free from cigarettes.

Good luck. :thumb:

my suggestion would be The kgo VV the mini vivi nova or the mega tank with the adapeter to clean up the look. theres alot of reasont i would suggest this
1 its a VV device 3.0-6.0 more adjustable then the twists so you can find your sweet spot
2 it has a lcd screen so your not guessing where the volts are at
3 battery light
4 you can use it while its charging so no need to buy 2 of them
5 its 25.99 bucks and comes with a charger and it charges in about 45 mins
6 it come from hoosierecig.com and the shipping is super fast got all my stuff with my custom juices in 3 days.
7 spend 50 bucks = free shipping

heres a video if you want to see it and see what the adapter makes it look like and what the vivi nova mega looks like and see how it vapes like

Kgo vv Battery 3.0-6.0 volts review - YouTube

I payed 25.99 for the bat and came with the charger

the code is 5off

the vivi nova v3 gives a great hit and hold alot easy to fill and you can rebuild it if you want to easy.
Im getting a great clean taste from it. I love the nova no leaks
kgo bat link
KGO V.V. 650mAh

the vivi nova mega link comes with extra heads so you can find out witch one you perfer
Vision Nova Tank Clearomizer V3 Mega

the vivinova mini link same size at the battery comes with extra heads so you can find out witch one you perfer
Vision Nova Tank Clearomizer V3 Slim

Adapter for Dual Coil Tanks

as far as juices go i use Dekang red use 24 mg and get one hell of a throat hit at 6 volts had to turn it down to 5.2 volts.
you can get that from hoosierecig.com to 10.99 bucks for 50 ml. and if you watch the video you will see how much vapor it makes even being a 100% pg juice. the caramel cappuccino i used in the video is a 60/40 mic 24 mg nic and its great to.

Thanks for the info :thumb: ! Can I use the Vision Nova Tank on the standard KGO (not the KGO V.V), or do I need an adapter?
