to me, the condom method is messy, takes more time, and is a pain.

i fill from the top -- keep going 'round until a drip comes out the battery end -- that way, i know it's completely soaked. then, i blow out from the top onto a paper towel, to make sure there are no more drips, and wipe off the battery end. haven't burned a carto yet.

well im refilling the SD Keyring which is an auto battery, using the battery/screw end to refill using the condom method. I always make sure i wipe the end clean with tissue before i screw them in. Is this ok to do or will this damage it? like i say i always try and make such most if not all the liquid is off the end

Just a bit of history, if you aren't aware.

Early cartomizers were either made with press-fit shells, or hard caps. It wasn't easy, or impossible to get at the filler. The condom method was a necessity to refill a cartomizer.

Then cartos started coming out with the removable silicone caps and all was wonderful with the world. I'm not sure but I believe the Boge cartos were some of the first that came empty with the soft cap for filling.
